It's been thirty years since we have had trick or treaters. The first year here we loaded up with candy and....not a one. I'd never lived in the country, what did I know.
While we could put out a sign to host trick or treaters here in the mill apts, it's not the same as when we lived in our homes in NJ and VA. Now, we just light the candles and enjoy a movie without any interruptions.
I do like seeing the little kids dressed up. I would miss that. Some teens stole my candy last night that I had left out after Jack went to bed. I chased them and may have told them they were fucking assholes. Maybe.
Same here. 41 years.

ReplyDeleteOne year we invited the neighbor kids to come down and trick or treat us which they did. Otherwise they all go to town.
ReplyDeleteThe candy left over did not go to waste though!
Otherwise we have never seen a trick or treat-er!
It was very different in St. Paul. We had hoards of kids. It makes sense they would go into town, much more profitable for them!
ReplyDeleteWe had our usual kids! They all have to go to their Grandparents next door!!

ReplyDeleteFar Side, it's wonderful to have them next door!
ReplyDeletePixie, I love it, I hope you scared them good!
