Happy Wednesday to you all. We are out of the freezer for today, put back in tomorrow and then it's moderate temperatures for the foreseeable future. My little Frieda joined me for an afternoon in a sunbeam. She graciously allows me to use her ottoman and throw. She is so kind and gracious. It was so cold yesterday I didn't bother to get out of my warm robe.
I followed through and made a pasta dish with the leftover salmon. Pasta stretches a small amount of protein into a meal. As you have undoubtedly noticed, pasta is the main carb used in this abode.
I really like gelato and have decided to make some. I have an ice cream maker and have made ice cream often, but never gelato. May do this today or tomorrow. Add a bit of diversion into my life, but not too much! On that note, soup will be made today and life will carry on.
I've never tried pasta with salmon. Noted. I think I'd like it. Meanwhile stay warm.
ReplyDeleteSalmon is very good with pasta and a great way to use a small amount leftover. It's good in a cream sauce and in an oil and also with a little red pepper flakes. Really, what ever you fancy, Boud!

DeleteSalmon with anything sound delicious to me, Sandra. And we also enjoy pasta dishes, but more so rice of which we have several varieties always in the pantry. Your temps are much colder than Nashua, NH, ours have been single digits overnight and teends in the daytime. The cats have the right idea - find a nice comfy blanket and some sunshine and nap away.

DeleteWhen it warms up for you, I anticipate that it will warm up for us, but I confess that I have not minded the freeze although it surely affects our gas bill.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the cold as much as the heat, AC. What I don't like is the same thing as you. The propane tank empties really fast during these times in the winter.

DeleteAbove zero today. 10 degrees! But windy so it says feels like 11 below, so still quite cold enough. Better than 50-60 below wind chill, that's for sure!

We were above zero yesterday but are now -4 F. I know you are colder, Rita. The coldest actual temperature I've experienced is -35 F. The dashboard on my car cracked!

ReplyDeleteIt was warmer today where I live today. It is suppose to get down to -8 tonight. It could be worse you had -14...Yikes!

DeleteBuongiorno! I took Italian for awhile. Love that language. Felt like -11 this morning when I went out to the barn and it was sunny all day. That helps my brain, especially when we don't have wind. I also love the photo of Frieda...such beautiful light. Of course the news has been extraordinary! For some reason it did not get me down so much today. Maybe there will be some hope down the line.
ReplyDeleteMolto bene, Lori! I know a smattering of Italian. Thanks to Cheerful I am learning more online. I studied French for 4 years, but lack of use has caused a loss of most of it. We are in for a warm up, hopefully it comes your way. I have stayed away from the news but it still filters in.
