It's been HOT
Hellaciously HUMID
The kitties and I have been lying low. As long as we don't do anything and stay in front of a fan it's fine. We were about 90F with a dew point of 79*. You'd think the keyboard would have that little circle for degree. Anyway.......miserable. We did have a storm last night with small hail and about two inches of rain. We needed it. Neighbor Bill brought me zucchini, including a larger one as he knows I like to stuff them. I stopped growing peppers years ago and omitted zucchini this year because Bill gives me more than I need, along with green beans. We call them Bill's Beans. He's our one friend in the area and we do value him.
That's the news of the day, folks. Stay cool. In both meanings of the word.

We've left that broiling zone for now, and it's so much better. For now.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the reprieve, Boud.
DeleteOn your keyboard hold down alt and on the number pad type in 0176 that gives you the degree circle so 79°
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Jane.
DeleteStay cool! I always have indoor projects, like studying Spanish, doing some drawing, etc. for when I hibernate from the heat. It helps a lot.
ReplyDeleteI have plenty to do, Cheerful, just not the will to do them!
DeleteThe dog days of August or in your case the cat days:) Stay cool:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh. Far Side!
DeleteIt is mildly better today but I'm going to let yard work go until next week. We are supposed to get a LOT of rain in the next few days.
ReplyDeleteStay cool and be like a cat...
It's still sniffling, Val. I've given up on my gardens.
DeleteHot and humid here until Thursday. 😔
ReplyDeleteI should post on fining symbols like ° or ₵ or ©. No keystrokes needed.
That would be welcomed by me, AC!
DeleteBill's beans. That's a hoot.
ReplyDeleteI've gotta million of them, Ivy! The reference is too old for you to get. Jimmy Durante. Haaachadachacha!
DeleteSince we choose to live in Florida, we just plan on it being sweltering. This week has been pretty bad, but I've made headway on two quilts!
ReplyDeleteI lived in the South for 18 months and despised the humidity. The last few years it is now here, Dreaming and I still despise it!!
DeleteIt. Is. So. Hot.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is, Miss Merry.
DeleteI hope you and Val are sending rain our way. Heat and humidity have ruined this summer for me. Overkill big time.
ReplyDeleteWe keep trying, Lori. It's been unbearable for me, Lori. The long lost summer.
DeleteFriday morning I found out I must have slept through quite a storm as I saw an email telling me we had our electricity restored during the night--lol! Seems like we've had storms or rain passing through randomly for the last month or so. But it doesn't seem to give much relief from the humidity. I'm feeling like your cats today. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a doozy, Rita. The rain isn't bringing any cool air. The cats and I are simpatico.
DeleteBeautiful ❤️ cats 🐈 😻 🐈⬛️ It is extremely hot 🔥 🥵 and humid here in Montreal as well and will go up to 40 Celsius or 104 Fahrenheit and remain hot for several days.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, that is HOT, Linda. Stay inside if you can.
DeleteOur temperatures are a little lower and hopefully you will get the same respite soon. Here’s wishing for you Sandra, for your cute kitties too :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your nice weather, which I know you do. The kitties find lounging about very agreeable.
DeleteThose cats sure can relax. mine is sleeping like a rock. Stay hydrated, it helps.
ReplyDeleteThey have that skill down pat, e. I do need to pay more attention to hydration.
Delete90° F is too hot to do anything much except as you say sit in front of a fan. You can get the degree symbol with Alt + 0176.
ReplyDeleteOh, you've already caught up with that one!
ReplyDeleteI did but I appreciate your help. It really is too hot and very humid., nick.
DeleteHope you have a good new week, Sandra!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ivy.
