I finished the kitchen floor yesterday. It was a fix-up, not a proper job, but it was my only choice and it turned out well enough. At least the wood is protected, which much of it had not been. I have the small bathroom, powder room, off the kitchen left to do.
I've been keeping myself busy but news does get in. $11.8 billion was spent on the first week of bombing Iran. Let that sink in. Happy Days are here again.
On to my coffee and bagel.
Your floors are beautiful! I have floor envy.
ReplyDeleteSo much better than they were, Pixie.
DeleteThe floor is lovely. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Boud.
DeleteI am totally impressed! Not only with the floor, but that you were able to do this! Every day....every day.....what a tragic mess.
ReplyDeleteOddly, I don't have any trouble getting up or down from the floor, Lori. My back needed a day of rest, though. Tragic is the word for it.
DeleteThe floor looks fantastic! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate being away from the news for a couple days at a time, but I also need to know...even if it is mindboggling. ;)
There is a difference between moderating exposure and hiding from it, Rita. Something I used to throw out to my friends who said they "didn't do" politics. Iwould tell them you may not do politics, but politics will certainly do you.
DeleteYou did a wonderful job on the floor. It looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThan you, Miss Merry.
DeleteBeautiful floors. I can't even imagine what 11.8 Billion would look like.
ReplyDeleteI know it would feed hungry kids and help those who need medical assistance though.
What I've been thinking, Val. Between the armored street thugs and all the blowing up of boats and a country, lots of much needed care of people could be happening, Val.
DeleteYour floors look better than your country's budget.
ReplyDeleteMy floors before refinishing looked better than our budget, AC.
Delete$25 billion by now. Nice job on the floors! It must be a relief to be getting them done. ❤️
ReplyDeleteHe's like a kid in a candy shop, Cheerful. Thanks about the floor.
DeleteThe kitchen floor looks good, much smarter than our pale parquet flooring.
ReplyDeleteThe USA's supreme leader has dug himself into a huge hole with the Iran war and he has no idea how to climb out of it.
I also have pale parquet, nick. I'm leaving that alone! Yes we have opened up the hell mouth and don't have a clue what to do now. Not only evil, but they are all incompetent.
DeleteWonderful job! Your floors are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lori.
DeleteYour floors turned out beautiful. Mine are original 1949 floors and look a lot like yours. How did you do yours?
ReplyDeleteI just lightly sanded the areas that needed it, put on ons coat of fast drying stain and then applied tung oil the next day, Jane. This floor is pine planking.
DeleteYour floors are a work of art, so beautiful! They look antique and I love anything to do with antique whether they are or not. Hard to stay away from the news isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThey are simple pine planks, Denise! Yes and I don't want to be completely out of the loop but also not emerged in it.
DeleteYour floors are gorgeous. Great job 👏 👍
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda.
DeleteSandra, those floors look amazing. They look to be old growth Chestnut. I was wondering what wood they might be????
ReplyDeleteJust plain old pine, Tommy! I wish they were old growth chestnut.
DeleteLOVE the plank floors. My goodness you done great!
ReplyDeleteThank you, ma'am. One more to go, Ivy.
DeleteEven Tim saw your floors and loved them. You are WAY talented at this!
