It is now official. I am an old cat lady.
I'm not feeling chatty at the moment. I'm not going to go on about the why. I will say I caught the last 45 minutes of the 1 1/2 hour press conference yesterday and leave it there. We were 23 degrees F this morning. There is a warmup this week. We just follow the bouncing ball. I look forward to getting out in the gardens and play with some dirt.
Dirt is good. You can throw it, you can dig in it, you can plant in it and you can be one with it.
ReplyDeleteI caught some of that and now hold my breath and hug my pups. I'm an old dog lady.
I am also an old dog lady, Val. Without the dogs. Now it's cats. No one tell its are easier than dogs!
DeleteI am eagerly looking forward to working in the garden too. This Friday I plan to do some planting. The garlic I planted in the fall is about 12 inches tall now and looking good.
ReplyDeleteI used to grow garlic, Lori. It's too early here to plant. Although climate change has thrown the old rules out, it used to be we weren't safe to plant until after Memorial Day.
DeleteWhatever helps is good.
ReplyDeleteYes, Boud.
DeleteMake it stop. It's 22f here and also snowing.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could, AC!
DeleteI find gardening very therapeutic. I'm doing something useful without having to worry about other people's opinions (well, Jenny maybe). I'm keeping a close eye on two baby rose bushes. Will they flower soon, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteThat's a perfect way of looking at it, nick.
DeleteDirt is good for the body and the soul. Sending hugs.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is, Pixie. You live where it's not time for that, too.
DeleteIMHO there is nothing finer than dirt under one's fingernails! Your dinner looks scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteSo true. Thanks, Dreaming.
DeleteFingers crossed for us all!
ReplyDeleteAnd every other part we can cross, Cheerful.
DeleteYour meals always look delicious and a glass of red wine in pretty crystal appeals to me too. Love the kitty wall hanging. They go well with your pretty clock. All I can say about that lot is that hubris is running rampant, again!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Denise. I couldn't resist the kitties.
DeleteWe still have a couple days before warmer weather moves in. Gary's garlic and all the onions he planted are growing in spite of it feeling like -2 (with the very strong wind) this morning.
ReplyDeleteWe may reach the upper 50s today, Lori. -2 is kinda cold!
DeleteSupposed to be 27 here tonight, after 87 on Sunday! Yuck. I havent planted any of my early stuff yet but hope to do tgat tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteNot watching news conferences. Trying not to hear the orange one. My blood pressure needs a break.
That's quite a swing, Sue. I stay away quite a Bitte from news, too. It still seeps in.
DeleteThe stemware reminds me of Waterford, the china suggests Haviland, but the meal looks so good, especially today.
ReplyDeleteYou have a good eye, Tommy. It is Waterford. We use the stemware everyday, now. Otherwise it just sits in the cabinet. The china belonged to a now deceased friend's grandmother. She was giving it to Goodwill. I told her she would feel bad about that so I'd keep it for her until she changed her mind. She never did. I started using it as our daily dishes last year. You brought up Haviland. I had my mother's Haviland in a box in my office for 6 years. Last week I made room for it in the cabinet. I decided I keep it and let my son deal with the overflow of china I have!
DeleteYour table settings are always so beautiful and your food always looks so delicious! I am blessed this week that we are caring for two young grandchildren and can't keep to abreast of the news. It is horrific.
ReplyDeleteI knew young grandchildren could be useful, Miss Merry!
DeleteThe food looks good.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dora. I had some langoustine tails in the freezer.
DeleteYour meal looks scrumptious.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. It's something I can still do.
DeleteLove that twirly noodle. How fun.
