Good Tuesday Morning
Yesterday started early with a medical appointment. The clinic was very busy so my wait was long. I found the root cause of the extreme pain I associated with the sciatic nerve. It's this:
The L4 nerve root is a major spinal nerve in the lower back that branches off the spinal cord and exits between the fourth and fifth lumbar vertebrae. It controls sensation and movement in the legs, and irritation or compression here commonly causes lower back and leg pain.
I've been having some of the worst pain I've ever had. My right leg came close to being unusable. Actually more than close. I am now on prednisone and a nerve relaxant. I felt a difference yesterday afternoon. I woke up with pain but not as intense.
More adventures for me. As usual, it's playing catchup time again. If you don't hear from me this is why. For some reason the song "don't worry, be happy" just popped into my head. Okay!

Oh, Sandra, I am sorry about your pain..I hope it diminishes soon. I always say to myself it could be worse, it could be worse. I like don't worry be happy better.
And now will I be able to comment??
Take Care,
Kaye
I have had something similar but with bulging discs. It’s never gotten entirely better but is is generally livable. All the best.
Rest and don't overdo! Hope you feel better soon. Back Pain is no fun.
My dad suffered from sciatica -- it's nasty stuff. I hope you get relief.
Let us hope so, Kaye.
I can be happy with livable, AC.
It sure isn't, FC.

This has been so intense, Cheerful. The prednisone is helping.
What the heck! I will be calling you today! (Wed.)
I'm glad you found the cause of all the pain. Hopefully you'll be able to minimise it.
Sandra, please take care of yourself. I can understand concentrating on the medical ailment. Certainly, it takes precedence over all. I do hope you improve soon. Big Hugs from Tommy. Get Well, Ma'am!!!
I'm back this morning. It's wet outside at the moment so I decided it's a good use of my time to visit the land of blogs. thanks for the kind concern.
That's a wonderful still-life photo and your food looks yummy. Glad you know the reason for your pain. Sounds awful and I hope something can be done for you. I read your latest post about the prednisone helping. That's a step in the right direction. Continued pain can be a bear.
Oh ouch. I missed this post. Nerves getting pinched in the back are the absolute worst. I see by your next post that the prednisone is bringing down the inflammation there which is good.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
I suppose there's something to be glad about, that at least you now know what's causing the awful pain. I hope you get relief soon.
A long time ago I had similar. Tart cherry juice helped me as did raw unsalted cashews. Sorry you have this. Very happy the root issue was solved.
