My pain is decreased. The prednisone is helping. Prednisone has an energy bunny effect on me, so I have been more active, for me, these past couple of days. I'm attempting to walk as much as possible so I took my phone for a stroll around the parts of the property that were safest for me.
Any photos I post are mostly of the yard and flowers. I thought I'd go to my version of the forest. The parts I had somewhat solid footing.
We got another wild flower spot prepared yesterday. We have a little over an acre of lawn, the front being most of it. I have never liked the large expanse of grass, so after 32 years I've decided to break it up some. Wild flowers will be dispersed in several areas suited to them. Red cedar sprouts up everywhere so we will transplant some to various areas. I'm on the look for maple saplings to place alone the drive where three have died over the years. There used to be many but so far no luck. I intend to get as much done as possible while I have the prednisone induced energy.
It rained overnight, a much needed rain. I'll sow some more seeds and see what else I can get done.

Good for you! ❤️
I guess you don’t need to escape to a country getaway on your holidays. :)
I'm glad the prednisone is helping. All your photos are really great, what a beautiful property you live on.
Your property looks huge. I'm glad the pred is helping you get around and do some outdoor work. Is it your back that's the issue?
When a blog includes photographs, it makes it more personal, in my opinion. You have done an incredible job of providing photographs of a variety of subjects. I do hope your present nerve troubles are temporary.
What a beautiful tour of your place!
Your property is so peaceful looking! Gary is totally into native plants. We may get some rain this weekend and need it. So glad your body is letting you get energized and productive.
So green and so beautiful!!!
Prednisone makes me very mean and nasty. But it is the only thing that works for my lung infections so people just have to put up with me.
Prednisone makes me very happy and almost pain free but I cannot take it everyday. I take 20 a day for 3 to 7 days...and yes I get lots done too:)
Your photos are absolutely gorgeous. I wish you good health and happiness.
The photos are all wonderful. You have a beautiful space. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Too bad this energy will be short-lived, Cheerful.
No, I guess not, AC 😉 The beauty is we are only about 20-25 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. We are about 10 minutes from Prince's studio.
This is a forested area, Denise. The open land is farm fields and pasture. I'm the only person with pasture.
It's not huge, 25 acres, but there are farm fields around, Boud. It's a nerve coming from the lower back and running all the way to my foot with horrid pain. She called it L4.
Thanks, Tommy. I love seeing my friends lives in photos, it does make it so much more personal than simply words, which are also important. This is a new pain for me and it can just go away and never come back!
You have a rugged beauty in the Driftless. I live where it was once dairyland, Val. Not anymore.
Gary is a gardener extraordinaire, Lori. It is quiet here, except during planting and harvesting.
It has an opposite effect on my, Miss Merry. I energize and feel pretty good. I wish I could stay on it! Yes, people with just have to put up with mean, nasty you!!
No, I cant's stay on it, FS. But it's good while it lasts.
Thank you, Linda.
I gave up trying to tame it many years ago, Lori. Nature wins!
I’m so glad the prednisone’s helping. I hope you’re feeling better soon.
Your place is beautiful.
Wonderful that you have some relief right now. I hope it continues. Getting answers is often half the battle, it seems. Prednisone has that effect on me too. My husband dreads it!
You live in a glorious place, surrounded by beauty.
I'm just catching up. So sorry to hear about the pinched nerve but I'm glad that the prednisone is helping. Your yard looks beautiful and peaceful.
Thanks for the walk around your yard! So pretty at this time of year. Ah yes, steroid highs! I recently underwent a course of them, it was good....too bad we can't keep taking them and getting that boost and relief of pain!! Hope you get a long-term fix!
Thanks, Jane. I can say there is no shortage of firewood!
You are the energizer bunny without prednisone, Sue! This place is a complete turnaround from my first decades of life in the city.
I am fervently hoping this doesn't become a recurring thing, Pixie. The past decade slowed life down here without so many horses and people, so it is peaceful.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could, Dreaming.
Wonderful!
I do the same in that I also take advantage of when I've got energy for projects. Right now I'm sanding the back deck. Already did the front porch. These things take me forever because I take forever to do everything. And that's okay with me. Slow and steady.
So do I, Ivy. I want to paint the front porch floor but it's too humid for me. Sanding is a lot of work.
