It has cooled down. The humidity is still high and we have smoke.
I feel this is important. I have for the most part, said little regarding what is happening in America. We have been watching as the person in the White House ignores law and tramples the Constitution. We were warned, as he did say he wasn't sure he had to follow the Constitution at one time before the election. The Not-So-Supreme-Court has given him permission to do as he pleases and he has grabbed it and run.
Now. Now the FBI, I believe 120 agents, are sent to Washington DC because crime is rampaging. Or so we are to believe. Now the plan is to deploy the National Guard to the city. The homeless are to be rounded up and sent, where? He says the streets are dirty. Does anyone find this to be anywhere near acceptable behavior?
This is my feeling/belief. This is a prelude, a test. He's done numerous tests to see how far he can push the boundaries. So far, there have been no boundaries. If he can take control of DC do you believe he will stop there? Do you believe in the tooth fairy? Is this leading to marshal law? Think about it. Every action has led to another more brazen action. He has no intention of leaving office when his term is up. He also told us this when he casually told his ardent following that if he is elected there will never have to be another election. He told the truth. It got pushed aside as a joke. He doesn't know how to joke.
I had to bring this up. The democrats wringing their hands and saying wait til the midterms. Are they paying attention? I don't know what to do, other than speak out.

Marshal law is next. He also said he was going to round up people with mental health issues and send them to camps.

He's going to end up being taken out after he's no longer useful. He thinks he's in charge, but he has handlers. Those are the ones in charge. Imagine if any other president had been yelling from the roof and barfing out gibberish. ANY other president. Dumald is crazy, he also has dementia, and he's mentally ill. (Yes, I see all those as different things.) What can we do? As far as I know, I can't do a f*cking thing. Voting? What a joke. Can't go there and ask him to leave, either politely or impolitely. Our representatives aren't representing us, they're representing themselves. It's not a democracy and we have the world's biggest asshole as the main figurehead. Stock up on food and anything else you think you might need. They will continue to have him erode every freedom we have.
I am sick to my stomach. He is a liar, a cheat, a rapist and a fascist.
The abject grovelling and capitulation is the most frightening thing. Checks and balances don't work if the checkers go in hiding.

Ami has its right. The 2025 club is letting T continue to make a fool of himself and then they will get rid of him (before the election) so JD can be in place. This Washington issue is just what you said Sandra. He changes his tune every other month.
I agree with everything you said about what is going on in this country. It is horrifying and everyday a little more is hollowed out of the Constitution and the rule of law. Beyond the pale.

What Trump is doing is appalling, and what's also appalling is that so many people are just giving him a free rein rather than stopping him. As you say, he's continually testing the water to see if he can go even farther.

It is my understanding that DC police department is 800 officers short at the present time and the guard will help out with that so the officers that are there can catch a break. Not sure why so many people think that is a bad thing.

Far Side, There is no eruption of crime in DC. The crime rate had dropped 33% over the past couple of years. No one asked for help. Having Federal agents patrolling the streets at night, bringing people in military garb to what, intimidate? To show the Nation what do you think? I know what it's showing me. You obviously see it differently. I am astounded and yes, worried any the strong armed behavior being normalized over the past six or so months. That's why I in particular see it as a bad thing.
He doesn't own the White House, we do. He didn't go to the elected officials that are supposedly there to represent us, asking for permission to put an addition onto a National icon. He doing because he can. No, there is no intention to leave.
Because he told people what they wanted to hear and he will go as far as he wants as it seems there is no attempt at stopping him. Protests certainly have not done anything to dissuade him or the members of Congress, Dora.

I’m deeply troubled by what’s happening in our country. It doesn’t feel like the land of the free anymore, and I believe the president bears a large share of responsibility. I’m appalled by what’s unfolded in such a short time.
I'm very concerned that so few are speaking up, taking any action, resisting. The fact it's causing American to Fall at such a rapid pace, in just a few Months, is shocking!!! We never had to fear a Foreign Enemy, they've been Home Grown all along.
