Gatto Day

Is it Caturday yet?

I prepped and painted the "veranda" floor Thursday. Now I can get the porch furniture out there. I did some mowing yesterday, but partway through my body said that's enough and I quit for the day. My weed cutter with wheels arrived, which means once I get it assembled I will start cleaning up the untrimmed areas. It's been untrimmed way longer than I'll admit. Neighbor Bill has had our push mower for a long time. It has something needing repair, but Bill has not been himself for sometime now. I finally made the decision to buy this contraption. If I feel I need it I will buy a lawn mower after trying this.

It is satisfying finishing a long awaited job. I'll do the ceiling this autumn. It should be done first but my neck just isn't up to looking up for that long. If not better by autumn Mark will need to do it. Mark does not paint.

That's it from my little patch of this earth for now. Happy cat day!

  2. Gatto is such a cute and handsome kitty. You've been busy! I find I have to do everything in stages these days. I shall hopefully be doing one of those stages this weekend :)

    1. Gatto was a stay who was coming around at the end of '22. Linda. One night it was -20 and I heard a pitiful sound. It was him. I brought him in and in he stayed.

  7. This post just showed up. Blogger is weird. Sounds like you're listening to your body. Very cool. I thought about getting a Wagner stain sprayer. But didn't pull the trigger yet because I enjoy paint brush in hands. However, timewise I may still change my mind. Not sure yet. Wishing you a strong fun new week.

    1. Yes, blogger has its quirks, Ivy. I have a good paint sprayer that words well. My son is the only one who has used it and he liked it. I'd like it if he used it on my garage! The sprayer would speed things up.

  8. Oh, I know what you mean about your neck and painting a ceiling. I really should paint our bedroom...and that's one thing that is holding me back! Congrats on getting the floor done.

  10. Dear Sandra, thank you for telling me the story of how Gatto came to you! Bless your heart! Cats are amazing, and they show their appreciation to us in so many ways.

    1. All of my cats are strays or the result of strays, Linda. Four were born in the barn to a stray in 2015. One is in the house permanently because of an injury, two spend a lot of time inside and one will not come in. Frieda and Gatto knocked to come in. Frieda was a couple of months old kitten, Gatto an older kitten.

  11. I'm with Happy Whisk, this just showed up ... however to be honest I did my post a day or so ago and ... haven't been on line much over the weekend with a grand kid showing up!

That is a lot of work you did. I was lazy this weekend.
