Phooey

I have very poor vision, which has not been helped by this thing we off-handedly call "getting older". So this is from my bad-eyed perspective: I hate the new word verification. I spend longer trying to get a comment published than I do reading the whole damn post. Then try writing a comment, only to be confronted by that squiggled, illegible nonsense to have it posted. Over & over.

I want to comment but I am saying that all I am going to give it is one attempt, maybe two, from hereon.

Okay, got that off my chest. Have a lovely day, I'm going to spread my sunshine around somewhere else......

I can't stand to get the rank comments, so I went back to word verification. Was getting too many.
Sorry about that.

Thanks for your supportive comment on my latest post. I too, hate the new Google wv. I can't figure them out and I hate anything that makes me feel older than I already feel.
I just scheduled an eye exam this morning, I can't take the glasses on, glasses off program any more. I need to see better in my life.
If it's any consolation, I've read quite a few posts complaining about how hard it is to decipher these new things. It's not just us. Someone posted instructions to disable it, but I was just not in the mood to figure it out, because of course, Google does not make things easy for us.
Thanks for persevering and commenting on mine. :)

I hate it too. As you say, it takes longer to navigate wv than it does to read the post. My Lord has looked after me. It is rare for me to get comments that need deleting & so I have never bothered with the wv thing.

Lori, we do what we have to do. I'm just letting people know I'm not going to spend 15 minutes on wv.

Mel, I am happy to say i got through the first one! We complain, no one cares. But to shake a fist and call them out, that's the thing, isn't it. Yes, it is.

Ganeida, I appreciate your lack of wv, I really do. It is your Lord looking after you and my lack of pertinence in the blogland which keeps the spammers at bay for me! It pays to be inconsistent and irrelevant.

I took mine off, with much trepidation, but so far, so good. I probably don't get enough traffic for it to be a problem at this point. I have gotten some anonymous spam comments, but so far blogger has caught them and so that's easy enough. And I agree, it is much more time consuming and difficult to leave comments now...

I am with you here. I took the darn things off because you have to sit on your side and twist your head to read them and seldom are you right and it is so stupid as to be another sophomoric attempt at "design" by blogger.

Between the wasted negative space now in the editing pages - I suggested to them that if they are bound and determined to do this to their users at least with the money we generate for them they could hire a graphic designer - they are as irritating as sitting on poison ivy with their changes.

Off to appointments.

Leslie, I have never had comment wv, I think if someone is willing to take the time to comment on something O wrote, I should make it easy to do. My blog isn't trafficked enough to get the spammers attention. If that were to happen I would go to comment moderating, which I already do for comments on any post 14 days or older. I do appreciate those of you who don't use it. : )

A., I don't know what happened to email notification on comments. It's not here anymore, so I have no idea if someone comments unless I look. Sometimes leaving well-enough alone is a good idea.
