Naughty Frieda in repose.
I baked soda bread Thursday and three loaves of bread from dough that had fermented for three days yesterday. Ivy had mention sourdough a few days ago. I had a period in my life of messing with starter. Some really like doing this, others, me, do not. I have found letting the dough be for one to three days gives a similar result. The longer left the more 'sour' it becomes.
My interaction here will be sporadic for a little while. I have a lot I want to do and I need to focus. After I come into my office I can look at the time and realize hours have passed. Time seems to disappear.

Even naughty creatures look angelic when they sleep.
Sometimes we need an internet break.
What could be more important than playing with your friends online?? Says she with a backlog of tasks and projects waiting.
I had never heard of that way of making sour dough bread. Good luck with catching up on things to do!
Catch you later......
Yes, our computers can suck time away from us. I saw a sour dough started at the grocery store. Do you know if it works?
Look like someone resting their eyes.
Yes they do, Rita.
It is too tempting to play with my online friends, bout. It's how things got this way!!
spell check got me, Boud.
It's not traditional sourdough bread, Cheerful, but it's close and doesn't require babysitting a starter.
I'll be around, there will be days I'm not, Lori.
Sure, it will work but you will need to keep it going. Unless you are looking for a one time use, Dreaming. If so, you can easily make one.
It best when she is sleeping, Dora. Torties are unusual.
Glory be to Frieda.
Only a tortie could look that regal while napping, but I may be a bit biased.
That's wonderful to know because I make dough and let it sit for a few days as well. I like to have it on the ready. Got dough fermenting as I type! Yum.
That is an interesting way to make bread! Enjoy your break.
Yummy looking bread! Hope you get lots done during your break!
The little kitten who knocked on the kitchen door I let in 6 years ago this month, AC.
She does a spectacular disdainful look, too. Part of being regal, Jane!
It's not quite sourdough, but close enough for someone who doesn't want to babysit a starter, Ivy!
Mix it let it sit, bake it. I make bread all sorts of ways but this is a good way that I use, Sue.
Me, too Far Side. I got the stove and the tiles around it thoroughly cleaned. That took some time.
Move over Frieda, I would like to join you on that comfy cushion, especially if Mom makes that delicious bread! Happy week to you all out there :)
Frieda doesn’t share, Denise!
Good luck on all the projects and give Freida a head scratch!
Your bread baking always makes me want to do the same, Sandra, and so I did bake a small loaf in a Pyrex bowl this weekend😋 Do you freeze any if your homemade breads and, if so, does the process work well. I would just keep eating them myself. Enjoy your sporadic break as we all need those.
I've been sporadic too, but so many things need attention!
Yes, Dorothy. I do freeze the bread. It works just fine, freezes well. I have been productive the past several days, which is what I wanted.
You have good reason, Val. You and Charlie are finding your way.
Naughty Frieda of the delightful title is so very cute and your bread looks amazing. I have never made sourdough bread. I have just bought the ingredients to make focaccia, and it will be interesting to see how it turns out as it has been years since I made bread. I think I read that it was pretty easy to do so decided to give it a try. I will miss you while you are away but understand the need to catch up on others things.
Focaccia is really simple, Denise. It will turn out great. Frieda is cute. And opinionated. I need to concentrate on getting the living area cat hair free and dusted. It takes much longer for me than it should. My concentration is wavering.
That's understandable. Though I don't mind the babysitting. I do that with the sprouts and homemade yoghurt and things like that. OMG. Have you added yoghurt to flour and made tortillas and wraps? SOOOOOO good. Happy Weekend and boogie boogie.
I will, e.
