I will just say, baby it's been cold outside.
Mark just now went to put the horses out. There will be some rodeo moves by some known culprits. Too bad geriatric me doesn't have the moves of geriatric them. I did bake zucchini/carrot bread. I could get used to these cake breads. Sweet never tasted so good.
I had a long conversation with my recently reconnected old friend. She brought up how long we've known one another. There was a large gap, but we met and became fast friends in 1976. A move on her part, then a move on mine, along with time, got in the way. It happens often. I figured why not say hi last year, so I did. It's like no time passed. How weird. How nice.
I did make lasagna for last evenings dinner. Mark said it was the best lasagna he's ever had. I think the prompt was a full pound of Italian sausage in a small lasagna. He was in food heaven. I didn't make enough béchamel so it was light on that. Which meant nothing to him. I told him there is enough for two more dinners. I thought he would actually float on air.

Good grief! It's not even 10am and I am drooling over your photos!
The food! It looks great. I hope the horses don't get too carried away prancing around out of the barn
I get that. I love how it's like no time passed. Great on the food too!
Your lasagna looks delicious!! It is so nice to have old friends that you can reconnect with and it's like no time has passed at all.
I better make a little lasagna for me, it will last a few days. Thanks for the suggestion.
50+ years passed since grade school, but a grade school friend and I reconnected to as if no time passed. LOL. We had some much fun talking about our playground antics and we are still friends today.
Isn't that amazing. Good friends truly are forever.
If only we were neighbors, Lori!
Mark came in with all limbs working, so I think all was well, Boud! I used some tomatoes I roasted and froze for the sauce. It had a deep flavor.
It is and it's so strange that this is so, Ivy.
It really is, Lori. She looks great, better than I do!
Oh yes, do. Take Mark's recommendation and load it up with Italian sausage, Val! All the way back to grade school is really amazing.
It's warmed up to 17 degrees today so far (11:20am) so I am glad the horses can get out and stretch their legs today!
Your lasagna--I'm floating on air up here just looking at it--lol!
That is so wonderful to connect with an old friend and it's like no gap existed between you. That is just the best! Enjoy every minute!! :)
It all looks delicious. And I want to eat now.

What a heartwarming post! Thank you.
Your Mark is a lucky guy. I suspect in many ways.
Reconnecting with long time friends is a virtue. Being the person to make the first call saying "Hello, how are you" speaks to who You Are!!!
My mouth started watering at the photo of your lasagna! I love that stuff but rarely gave it and absolutely fail when I try to make it.
Yes, it's warming up and they are out munching hay, Rita. It really is strange how easily you get back into a groove with someone you haven't had in your life for a very long time.
It is good, Rue. Even if I do say so myself!
You are welcome, Cheerful.
Well, for sure in the food department, AC!
This is a kind and lovely thing to say to me, Tommy. Thank you.
Think of it as another casserole, Sue. Then it may seem easier.
Your lasagna looks delicious! How nice you reconnected with your friend. I expect your horses have different personalities just like people.
It's great when you reconnect with someone. I ran into an old friend on Facebook a couple of years back. I hadn't seen her since the early seventies.
Oh, yes, Denise. The horses run the entire spectrum. Arabians are quite expressive as well as beautiful!
That's wonderful, nick. That's how I found my friend, I decided to see if she was on FB and there she was. It's good for something.
Came by to say thanks for your words on today's post. These are fun to do, and I managed almost to say no words - I sorta cheated in the title a wee bit.
Also, so ... I made a batch of bagels the other day and stuck four in the freezer uncut and then from frozen into the air fryer on a lower setting to thaw/toast. Soooo good.
We've done this before but not yet with the new air fryer lid. Anyway, not sure if you've ever done this with homemade bread toast and wanted to share it.
Our bagels were uncut though cut works too.
Wanna do a cinnamon loaf raisin bread, slice it and freeze for later. See how that one works.
That's my very long comment about baking. I guess I really can't stop using words. lol.
I have never made bagels, Ivy. I also have not used the air fryer for thawing or toasting but now I will.
It's so fun to make bagels and also pretzels. I wanna see how the pretzels freeze and reheat. Next on my ever-growing baking list. Hope the thaw/toasting works well. Mine is on 300F but yours might be different.
I'm going to try bagels. I love the chewy ones.
Super fun to bake. Hope you have blast making them.
