The Life of a House Cat

What weird people do in the middle of the night, like taking a photo of a sleeping cat.

The iPhone has a very good camera, I could see nothing when I held it up, I had to rely on the yellow square telling me it was focused on something. And then, a usable photo. He was not even disturbed.

It's 3 degrees F this morning. We are expecting about three inches of snow today and more tomorrow. Then it gets colder. Which likely means sunshine, the bright spot in it all. No pun intended.

Nice shot in the dark! I am amazed at how cell phones can pick things up.
We have snow and blowing snow and snow and snow...and more snow.
Anything I shoveled this morning is already under 4 inches again.

Cold will be coming here too. Brrr. But that is winter!

You're welcome to the cold. Here it's 40sf. Cold enough. But it's unusual for our January, much warmer than normal.

Val, the quality of the camera is amazing. We will be sub-zero for a few days. As you said, that is winter.

Boud, although extreme cold isn't liked by anyone, it has always been beneficial for weed and varmint control. As we have warmed I have found weeds and bugs unfamiliar to me. Energy costs do soar, though.

We are headed for some cold weather too. The wind will be making it even colder, but I must admit that the last 8 weeks have been pretty quiet and we have not even gotten 18 inches of snow. That could change quickly. I have an iPhone 13 and have also taken photos in the dark...pretty amazing. Hope you get plenty of sunshine with those cold temperatures.

I love this cats perfect striped tail! It's beautiful and makes me happy, it is a very artistic tail. I sound nutty.
The forecast says to expect 3 to 4 feet of snow this weekend. 20 inches have already fallen. I want it to stop falling.

Take Care,
Kaye

What a nice camera. I am a little jealous about how comfortable he looks and how deeply he can sleep! We are expecting bitter cold and winds but the snow seems to have skipped us again (fingers crossed).

I think I would make a good cat! Stay warm, we are just getting the cold and the wind so far with not much additional snow to blow around....but I think some Montana snow blew in this afternoon.

Sweet pic! He's really living his best life.

I have about 40 pictures of my daughter's cat and my son and his wife's cats on my phone. Those are the only grandchildren I get. I call them my grandkitties.

My phone is not a new phone, but it takes pretty good photos, too. I don't think it wold do as well in the dark as yours does.

Lori, it's cold and NOT sunny! We missed the snow. I have an iPhone 12. Are they all ready up to 14 or 15? it's crazy how fast they push them out!

Kaye, if you are nutty, you are in the right place! His tail is rather fascinating, the way it curls over his back like a squirrel. May the snow miss you this time.

Miss Merry, he was a stray I let in December of '22. He was an older kitten. He's quite unique! We are cold, cloudy and the snow missed us.

Far side, Montana needs to keep its own snow! The life of a house cat is an easy life for sure!

Ami, no grandchildren here, either. There is a Yorkie! My prior iPhone didn't take good photos in the dark. I have been amazed at this one. Between cats and soup I don't think I have many photos of anything else!

A cat always has the perfect idea about what to do in very cold, and even not so cold, weather, Sandra. Your temps are way below our own as we had 20 degrees F for most of the day.

They sure do, Dorothy. This is life in Minnesota.
