Still Cold

I found enough ambition yesterday to make a pot of soup and do my usual Monday laundry. Oh, and I vacuumed the kitchen. Am I hearing the angels sing?

It has been below zero for a couple of days and will remain so today until afternoon. The two boy kitties have been spending most of their time in the house, they know warmth when they feel it. Otherwise there's no news fit to print. We are officially boring.

Oh yes, soup is just right for this weather. I made lentil soup with beef.
Many greetings to you. Viola
P.S. I don't have mountains at home, but I used to go skiing in the Alps a lot - downhill and touring skis with skins. But now I've ended up at home with cross-country skiing :-)) That's good too. A hug to you.

Oh I a making soup today too! Too chilly to grill outside right?
We are supposed to get up to zero today by late afternoon.

Quiet here also.
But that is nice.

Barwitzki, Lentil soup is on the menu later this week. Cold weather and soup are made for each other. The skiing will keep you young!

Val, yes, just a little too chilly. :) We are currently 6 degrees, woo-hoo!

Thank you Miss Merry! Simple and warming.

It looks like much of the country is in a deep freeze and many are not able to stay warm. I guess if I want to fit in I am going to have to make some soup! Our cats have been staying in the house a lot more lately.

Yes, Lori, you make good soup! It is cold across the nation. MPR had a meteorologist on today who said MN has had the mildest winter on record so far. I know it’s been unusual.

We are boring too. Stay warm!

If it is considered boring to stay indoors, warm and comfortable with feline companions, Sandra, then so be it. We just finished the large pot of minestrone soup made this weekend and that was after the turkey soup the week before. Now, I am thinking about the next one as it’s currenty 15 degrees in Nashua, NH.

Far Side, it's hard not to be when it's this cold.

Dorothy, I like the way you think! I think my next soup will be lentils and sausage. I made a bunch of stock a couple of days ago.
