Can't Keep the Cat Out of the Bag

I can always count on Gatto to give me something when the well is dry.

The boy loves his boxes and bags. He is definitely still a kitten.

It seems Minnesota is now tropical. It's only 85F at the moment but the dew point is 78 degrees. We will be in the high 90sF today, with that dew point. The cats love to be in the screened porch, but not today. Nope. No thanks. Nah. They aren't dumb.

Most everywhere is experiencing this. A climate scientist on the radio today said it is wrong to describe this as the new normal. It's not, it will continue to get worse. With that bit of sunshine, I will say... stay cool.

I love the sense of play that cats have.

My dog Morris [the Cat] had that sense of play and self entertainment.
Charlie only stares at you intensely until you figure out he wants to play.

Hot.
I wonder what fresh h-ll is coming to us in the future.

I just keep thinking I'm glad I live in a state with a well tended grid. And a reliable power company.
How are the horses doing in the hot weather?

Val, this cat is always into something! Except now. Now he's sleeping like an intelligent cat would do in the heat of the day!

I think we know what's ahead. I try not to think about it, but it's hard on days like this not to.

Boud, me, too. I haven't heard how it's going in TX.

The horses are doing ok. They are on pasture, not dirt. That helps. They also have plenty of trees for shade and lots of water. There is a good breeze today, a real blessing. The barn cats have been staying inside.

Gatto, is a delightful fellow. He is living the kitty dream life. It is interesting how he just fit in with the rest of your animal friends. It was meant to be.

Wishing rain and cooler tempts,
Kaye

I wanted to grab Gatto's tail and watch him jump up. I can be a jerk like that with cats, sometimes. New normal, well, new reality anyway. We're fucked.

We are dry and hot. No fun at least the smoke has cleared out today. Stay cool like that cat!

I'd never been around cats until our daughter and her husband moved in with us and brought Pixel. Pixel doesn't always act like a cat, though. Not interested in boxes or tunnels or pushing things off shelves. I wonder if she'd let me put her in a bag, lol.

It's too warm here, too. Although today is really nice, low 80s with a breeze. If we could just keep it like this year round.

Kaye, he had no fear. They just sort of shrugged and got on with their lives. He can be a real demon!

Pixie, his tail is very grabable and does tugged. He does not care. Reality bites, how true that statement is.

Ami, the good thing is none of them push things off tables or shelves. They do jump up on them, which is something none of my other cats did. At least not while I was looking. I just saw our heat index is 103F. Fortunately for the horses it's breezy. Mark just went out to bring them in.

Far Side, I'll never be as cool as that cat!

Your heat is headed our way for tomorrow and wouldn't you know they are coming to pave the driveway. Very humid tonight but we had a breeze and the temp hovered around 80. Did you put on your air conditioner yet? I'm sure we will have to by morning, as long as there is no smoke in the air. Gatto seems like one sweet cat.

Oh, no! Yes, I turned it on Wednesday evening and had it on all day yesterday. I turned it off this morning. Yesterday was miserable.

Gato certainly has a Kitten's Spirit. As for Climate Change, the Oceans are now at 100 degrees in some locations and Coral is dying... if it gets much hotter everything will die in those environments or have to migrate if they can. It is changing rapidly now and is alarming. We've had a record number of days over 115 now... they keep bumping up the temp records being broken with consistency now, with no end in sight and saying it will continue to worsen. They have set up refrigerated Morgue Semis to hold the extra fatalities that are Heat related... it's almost like another Pandemic of sorts where the Weather is now killing us off.

Dawn, I read people are in the burn units from falling on the pavement in AZ. That is a good comparison, another pandemic of our own making.
