COLD

Blustery, cold and clear. I've lived here most of my life and still get caught up short by the weather. I know we still have some moderate days ahead, but a day like today is good as a reminder that I better get the rest of my winterization done soon.

I usually try to get a lot done in the fall; fence painting, window washing, painting the grillwork in the barn, etc. I haven't done any of this, so what have I been doing! I think the tension and anxiety that is palpable throughout the nation, if not the world, has been dragging me down. Nine more days until we have a resolution, do we move forward or backward. Canada may need to put up a wall. : )

So, next week is supposed to be mild, which gives me an opportunity to do SOMETHING. We have a lesson on Monday, but then I have the rest of the week to putter around. Or not. This may be the first fall in my memory where I don't get any projects done. Putting in writing online will allow me to remember my year of malaise.

I too am needing to get busy and start on some projects around here. Most importantly, Packing! I am going to start now and try and get a good head start and then we have to get this house painted before we leave, make minor repairs, find an apartment ... : ) We will have to try and encourage each other to get with it and dive into these projects despite your cold and our hot weather : ) Give us some before and after pics and we can celebrate with you!

Bye for now

You have a much bigger task than I do. How long before you need to move? I can work much better in cold weather than hot; I don't like hot weather.

My photos would be rather dull, but I look forward to yours. I'll cheer you on.

I am going to need your cheering Sandra : ) We don't know exactly when we will need to be out but for sure some time before Feb. (I think : ) How is that for a solid answer. Things are still kind of up in the air and Oscar is still negotiating a few details and ..ahem... what we will call a few differences in opinion about our contracts terms : ) I am going to try and start doing a big clean out organization of one room a day for awhile and try to accumulate boxes. Then once everything is super tidy and all the 'junk' is gone I am gonna start packing. Today's goal the Master Bathroom!!! Yikes! : ) : ) Time to get this place ship shape.

I will let you know if I actually did it.

I started thinking about my mortality in Jan. of this year. It made me think about 'what if someone had to come in here', so I did what you are talking about. I haven't kept up with the plan, but I started one room at a time and it went well. I need to get back to it, as I'm nearly done.
I hope Oscar can get somewhere with his negotiations, you shouldn't have to go home with your suitcases and nothing more.

Master bath de-cluttered, clean, and reduced to almost half of the previous contents. Woo Hoo!!!

p.s. I realize that celebrating the cleaning of my bathroom publicaly is probably not the wisest thing to do, but I am going to have to have to keep myself motivated somehow : )

p.s.s. Another good news, I have another friend who is returning to the states and her hubby's company IS going to relocate them. They get 2000 pounds of stuff or something like that and they are underweight so I am sending my Grandmother's china that she gave to me when I got married with her!!!!!!! That is something I would really hate to lose : ) Good News!

I wondered if you have family heirlooms with you. You can't leave those, so it's great your friend can bring the china back with her.

It's a good feeling to get a job like that done and it sure helps to break it down room by room. You have time to get this done, if you pick away at it continually, without too much stress. My bathroom was one of my cleaned up messes a month or so ago. I think that's all I'll say about that. : )
