Thursday's Thinks

Thinking is easy, acting is difficult, and to put one's thoughts into action is the most difficult thing in the world.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

We will be in the mid-forties today and I think I like this. It's only March 5th, but I feel spring in the air. It makes facing the day a lot easier.

I don't want a Truth Commission looking into illegal acts committed by the Bush administration, I want a criminal investigation and prosecution. We can't truly become whole as a country unless we honestly confront what happened over the past eight years.

Why are the same people sitting in the large corner office on Wall Street? I think they belong in a corner cell.

I'm not thrilled by Daylight Savings Time starting in March. It may be fine in most parts of the country, but we are still in winter mode here.

I'm trying to focus my mind on the tasks in front of me in a better way. I become distracted too easily and this becomes a problem when I have so much to do and less energy to do it with. It used to work when I was younger because I had the reserves I needed to pick up my own slack.

I think I have fibromyalgia. I have most of the symptoms, so I suppose I should go to the doctor, although I won't take the medications for it. I don't trust the FDA, therefore I don't trust what comes out of the pharmaceutical industry. I would like to know if my chronic body pain is this or something else and if there is something I can do about it.

I think I'll put my mind to enjoying the mild day, but I wish the sun was shining. I guess you take the good where you get it.

I always try to acknowledge something I should feel gratitude for and I am grateful that my dog Gracie seems to be improving, finally.

Some people who have been reading this stuff for a while will remember that I am Wonder Woman. I think I found a super hero blog buddy. Just Jules found her inner super hero this week. I think I'm glad that I have a companion. It's a terrible burden to shoulder alone.

I think I need to focus my attention now and get myself to my work.

I'm happy for the weather today too except, I had to change around everyone's blankets today to sheets. They will need to be changed back this evening. Oh the woes of blanketing horses.

If you do think you have fibromyalgia you should check out some acupuncture for it. I have a friend with fibro and she swears by acupuncture.

Daylight Savings ~ Yuckety~yuk~yuk!!! Here in QLD we've been resisting this for 80 years or more while gradually the rest of the country has succombed but seriously what do you save? The same number of daylight hours exist. If you want to see more of them get up earlier! Otherwise don't condem some people to getting up in the dark all year round & no one in their right mind should *want* to be out in the sun more up here. [skin cancer is rife & it's a killer] As you can see I'm a big fan of DS. OK, Thanks for my rant of the day.

Stopped to Hi, not sure where I came from, (never am) but your thoughts today mirror a lot of mine this week!
...So I am not alone either, thanks!

I remember in High School I called myself Sheba (who was a super hero). I have had to be a super hero to get through all that I have... however when someone else sees me as a superhero (when I am not in costume) I am always surprised to be found out ;)

Thanks for being my lady in arms
Jules

I am off to the black hills - scheduled a bunch of posts, so still come visit (I love post scheduling!)

I think it's the year. Lots of gloom in the air. Thanks for the visit, you're surely not alone.

Jules, Super Heros can always recognize one another. I think your nurse must be a Super Hero also. I will gladly be a lady in arms.

Ganeida, I hate the time changes myself. We have a couple of states that don't switch. I believe Indiana and Arizona. I applaud QLD for holding out! I'm glad I gave you an opportunity to rant. It can be so much fun. : )

Hi Sandra,

I hate daylight savings time because it makes the time difference between my parents and I grow from 1 hour to 3. We spring forward when they fall back and it is just a big pain. I love to call in the morning but my 8 am is their 5 am so that does not work to well for half of the year : ) My aunt has fibromyalgia and I she has a lot of trouble with it. She has tried a lot of the meds and they did not help much probably made her feel worse with all the side effects. I think that weight loss, gentle excercises, and some diet things are supposed to help but I don't know much about it . I hope you find something to help, chronic pain is so exhausting physically and mentally. A big hug to you.

Ashley

Thanks for the hug, I can use it! I am OK for the last couple of days. It comes and it goes. I think your mom probably doesn't want a 5 AM call. : )
