Why I Love Bassets

In Pictorial Form

Drooly, yeasty beasties. Splatter paint the walls every time they shake their head. Demanding, endearing. Stubborn. Did I say stubborn? They are living, breathing cartoons. I am happy to have known them.

I had a couple of basset clients in my petcare business. Those guys can put on a great sudden burst of speed when something like a squirrel makes it necessary. Ears flying, amazing speed. For about thirty yards, no need to get carried away.

Don't be angry with me... but sometimes our pets are just like us?

LOL.
My Jack Russell ---> unending, boundless energy, always on the move, always playing, boing boing doggy.

:)

Hubby always wanted a Bassett. He is a hound fella.

Val, I can't be mad, it's true! My favorite horse was a opinionated fellow who needed to be asked, never told. I love the hounds, both sight and scent. Although I loved the bad girl, I would never have another Afghan Hound. They don't care one whit what you want! Bassets are hilarious without even trying.

Terriers are too much for me. I like to visit, not live with!

I posted and it appeared, and now it's gone! Weird.

Boud, I found it in spam. They can be remarkable quick. Mostly they do flat basset. A friend used to say moving Howard when he didn’t want to move was like moving a wet bag of cement!

I'm so sorry Sandra, I didn't realize Keetah had died. I still miss Lucy, at the oddest times. I read about Keetah and started crying.

Far Side, they are great dogs with an attitude. Mine got along with all the dogs.

Thank you , Pixie. You were on vacation, I wouldn’t expect you to know. Lucy was your German Shedder.

Lucy was our beagle. The german shedder is still with us:)

Ah, ok. Now I remember.
