Pleasure without conscience,
Knowledge without character,
Commerce without morality,
Science without humanity,
Worship without sacrifice,
Politics without principles.

He's wearing an Uncle Sam hat, from a cartoon character from another century's newspapers.

This guy with tea on his head is a closed-minded a zealot - a teabagger, and I wonder, how long before he's publicly toting an AK-47?

I wish you wouldn't sully your blog with photos like that. It's INSANE!

But I love the quote and hadn't heard it before.

I think I'll spread it around.

Dear me! what I told you privately about mediocrity and poor taste, lack of compassion and so forth, would I have had this photo I probably wouldn't have needed to write such a long rant.

Get a glass of wine and let's toast to the few of us who are left to turn the light off on reality if this continues,at least we will know where the switch is.

And the band plays on.

Bill, too bad the zealots have taken over. It's amazing what a small group can do when they have the media promoting them and the billionaires funding them.

Elizabeth, you are probably right, but there are times when a face says it all.

Allegra, I bought a case of wine yesterday, maybe not such a good idea, as I live in the hub of rightwing lunacy.
