Aren't they pretty!
It's me again. I hope all you mothers had a lovely day yesterday. It was hot here, 90F. Too hot for May. Too hot for me at any time of the year. I had a quiet day, which was fine. Later in the week we will cool down and I can return to garden maintenance, with more restraint this time. Wild violets are blooming all over the place. I wish they were in flower all summer, but the plant itself is pretty and is a great ground cover.
It's laundry day. I'm listening to the sound of the washer sloshing the water about and a cat munching on kibble. Not a bad way to start a day. Of course, there is coffee.

Yikes, Sandra, that was a hot day compared to Nashua NH where we had rain and lucky to get out of the 60s. It was also a quiet day here with an indoor picnic of my husband's favorite, hot dogs, served with a sweet potato salad and homemade buns. These were a first-time attempt.
I love violets, and yes, the foliage is nice after the flowering is over. Please remember moderation when you get out there again. Your back and I are just sayin.
It's not what used to be considered normal for May here, Dorothy. I need clean up the screened porch so we can enjoy it before it becomes too hot. I've intended to make homemade buns but never go to it.
My friend in Denmark makes cordial with violets. After the prior week I think I may heed your and my backs advice.
It was hot here as well. I might be a bit absent for a bit, lots going on here. [all good so far]
It is so far only up to 80 here but it rained last night and today and I got a soaking taking out the trash at 6 AM or so. I hope you enjoy that coffee!
I'm not ready for temperatures in the 90's!!!!
We have been having some very nice days while not getting dreadful heat. It will come though.
Way too warm for me too. I only go out in the morning after that I stay inside! The Violets are very pretty! We need rain so very little is in bloom:)
Hopeful everything will be well.
Mn hotter than FL, yikes! I do enjoy my coffee, e.
I'm never ready, Miss Merry.
It usually does, AC.
It's supposed to rain here this week, Far Side.
Was 94 that I saw up here--maybe hotter. Not my kind of weather at all. Beginning of May!? I was washing cloths, too. ;)
I know, Rita. This isn't May weather! Rain is supposed to happen this week. Fingers crossed.
Every day is good day for coffee.
That's way too hot! I hope it does cool off for you for a while. But summer (June, July, August) is almost here -- that is not my favorite season.
Beautiful photo! I cannot take the high heat and humidity, either. I am 68 years old and live in Montreal, Canada, and many people get surprised when I tell them how hot it can get here. Over 100, and extremely humid. And then of course we get the wildfires in Quebec which seriously affects the quality of air here, not to mention makes it even hotter.
I love your wild violets, such a pretty photo. We are getting up to 80-ish degrees this week, with several days of rain, windy too yesterday.
It sure is, Dora!
It's not mine anymore either, Cheerful. We've become much more humid.
Hi, Linda! Lots of people don't realize there are areas of Canada that have temperate to hot weather. The wild fires from up there affect the air in Minnesota, too. Those violets grow prolifically here, which I don't mind at all.
We are also going to have rain after today, Denise.
Not a bad way to start the day for sure. We only recently stopped having heat on and then also we have air. It's still been a bit all over the place. That's okay.
One thing about the weather, Ivy, it does as it wants!
