Taking Comfort

I looked out the window as evening was falling and I saw this. It's beautiful, even taken with a  phone camera through window glass.

November and December, especially December, my favorite months of the year. The magnificent sky scapes, the early darkness and sitting in my snug with a fire and a book. Comfort food, oh my god, how I love comfort food. Don't we all? Then, of course, there is always a but. I don't actually mind plowing snow. I can't say I enjoy the deep freeze weather but I can dress for it. The tropical summers we've been having, going through life naked wouldn't help. The utilities bills, we won't talk about. This is supposed to be idyllic, after all.

Speaking of finding comfort in food. I finally made the rhubarb cake and it is delicious. A pound or two may end up on my waste line.

I like the end months of the year. Not so much the real winter months. Not a fan! Your scenes are so hygge!

I have an American friend who has lived in Denmark for about 25 years. I learned that wonderful word and its meaning from her. She is a friend in real life and I am glad. I start to want change probably by mid January, Boud.

The cake is very, very good, Miss Merry.

I envy the fire you have going in your kitchen all winter,Lori. I thought about the pellet stove in the kitchen but I would have lost cabinet space.

Definitely my favorite time of year--from when the air gets a chill all the way through New Years. And then I do prefer winter to summer. Not a fan of the suffocating, sweltering heat...ever. Since climate change I also pray for a white Christmas. Brown Christmases are just a bummer. I don't remember ever seeing one growing up or for decades after I left home. Hoping for a White Christmas! You will be curled up before that lovely fire under a blanket with a good book. Ahhh! Looks wonderful!!

Hygge time! The comforts of home.

November is not my fav month, probably because photo ops are limited — at least of the type that I like to take.

So do I, Rita. Snow at Christmas is part of our lives. Mark need to get some wood cut. I am almost out and we have a whole lot of downed trees!

It is, Cheerful.
