We got about 7 inches of snow. It did pretty the landscape. One of the benefits of snow is it covers up the deferred outside maintenance.
This troublemaker has been with us for three years. It was the end of December 2022, an evening with -25 F/-32 C temps.
He was mewing pitifully and shivering. I brought him in and wrapped him up till he was warm and wanted down. He wasn't one bit concerned about the German Shepherd and fortunately she was used to cats. The two of them formed a tight bond.

I love the dog and cat lying down together! Peaceable Kingdom style.
:)
I’m so glad you rescued him, and they got along. ❤️
These are great photos and bless you for rescuing the kitty.
What a great story.
Great Post. !!!! Not sure if I could handle all that insideness and snow.
You have more snow, then we do.
I love the photo of your sleeping kitty! So sweet!
Well of coarse he holds a high opinion of himself, he knows he's a Handsome Boy!!!
I remember when he joined your family. I think he was part of the family all along, he just hadn't found you yet. I keep thinking about how much I'd like to have a cat around but then remembering that I could never let it outside and there'd be a litter box and I already can't keep up in general... well, there's no cat here. Although my husband has been giving treats to one on the back porch. Probably so it will go away. Haha.
Always nice when a new pet gets along with the ones we already own. Pretty snow. Winter wonderland here but it's Christmas Staycation and we don't have to leave so we can just enjoy it. Looking out the window it feels like I'm in a giant snow globe. I love it. Happy 2026!
The wood plank flooring is that Old Growth Chestnut???
They were inseparable, Boud.
They were best buds, Cheerful.
There are so many stray cats, Denise. Most are unapproachable.

Winter is young, Dora!
Thanks, Jackie. He is a cute one.
I think you are right, Dawn!
I think you nailed it, Ami! Somehow I don't think feeding the cat treats will make it go away!!
It's much easier to enjoy winter when you don't need to drive in it, Ivy.
Don't I wish, Tommy! Nothing as wonderful as that. It's pine!
What a lucky cat that you found him in such a distressed state and took him in. He's landed in a lovely household.
I tell him daily no good deed goes unpunished, nick. He shrugs.
