Fruit and Such

A rather distorted photo of newly purchased fruit.

I eat a lot of fruit, especially since I discovered, through Boud, Envy apples. Now I buy those along with another favorite, Cosmic. I don't know about any of you, but I dislike tart fruit. These two varieties of apples are crisp and pleasant. Now that we have this out of the way; it's a beautiful morning. Chilly, but bright sunshine. I'm a mite distressed realizing it is already May 7th. Time is moving way too swiftly for me to catch up. Remember those long August days that seemed to go on forever as a child? Now years fly by like minutes on a clock.

The severe pain has passed but now I am walking with a cane. It's surprising how swiftly the body changes when challenged by pain. I hope to strengthen my gait over time. We'll see.

Enjoy the day. They pass by quickly.

It’s honey crisp all of the way for me.
Meanwhile I wave my cane at you. I don’t absolutely need it, but it helps a little.

Those are two of my favorite apples too!

Mmmm on apples, I take them on all my hikes. I do hope that you gain back some strength and mobility. Dang that sucks.
But I love your basket of fruit.
Time?
Oh it flies to who knows where?
My father used to complain about it, now I understand.

Waving right back at you, AC. I actually need it right now.

They are good, Cheerful.

These apples are firm, crisp and not tart! It was awful, Val, and has sapped strength. It's crazy how fast months, years are flying by.

I rarely eat apples, but when I do, I enjoy them. I ran into some very good apples in NC, one that was particularly memorable was a Lemonade Apple. It wasn't very tart, as the name suggests.

I haven't eaten apples for a long time, until I found these, Dreaming. I really like them.

Love Empire apples. They stay nice and crisp. Great photo, by the way.

Are those varieties of apples locally grown? I like the cut crystal bowls, too!

Another apple I'm unaware of, Lori.

The cosmic are grown in Washington State, Tommy. I don't know which state the envy apples are from. The bowl with the oranges belonged to my grandma.

I love my fruit. I currently have a bowl of envy apples. I also like gala but they're not available just now, and I plan to try cosmic crisp on Sandra's recommendation, not tart.
I look with envy (!) on that bowl of oranges, to which I'm wildly allergic, but wish I weren't.

Separate issue: very wise to use a cane when it helps. I had to last year for a while, and became very happy to have it and reduce fall risk.

Oh, no! I really like oranges, Boud. I used to be allergic to raspberries but it went away.

Yes, Carol Cane, if I remember correctly, Boud. I am actually needing one now, not simply as a precaution.

Thank you and thank you Boud for introducing me to these apples. Your fruit picture looks very enticing. Good to know your severe pain is no more and that you are getting around with a cane. I hope your strength will return soon. I am amazed that we are already 9 days in on May already! I remember those never ending days as a kid.

Now it's never ending speed of time passing by, Denise!
