This showed up in memories yesterday.
Howard B. Hound
2007-2017
He was a very opinionated basset hound. He grew up with a couple of greyhounds, a yellow lab and a German Shepherd/Afghan Hound cross. Yes, that is an unusual cross. He was 100 lbs of attitude.
We are hopefully going to have a rainy afternoon. I will gladly give up my outside work for more rain. I'm generous like that.
Aroooooo Howard.

He was yours, wonderful and so very special.
Sandra, sending a hug and a kiss for a nice evening, Andreja!
What a nice photo!
LOL! Hubs is happy he doesn't have to water the garden today, one less chore to do. We are having rain today, quite a lot of it. Howard was an adorable dog. One of my son's friends had a Bassett Hound years ago. He was the most adorable, sweet natured pup who was invited in often.
What a handsome guy!
He was a beautiful Basset. 😍
Sweet boy! Hope you enjoyed your rainy day. Clear as a bell here,
Sweet picture!
Aw, what a boy. My granddaughter had one once, but they lived in town and people kept complaing about her howling, so she came to live here, briefly. A young boy lived about 2 miles away across the ridge, and Bailey kept running off to his house, so we finally just let the boy have her. Both were very happy!
Kids have a Bassett at their dad’s house. I don’t hear much about him.
He was all of this, Andreja.
Thank you, FS.
I was happy not to water yesterday as well, Denise. Howard was a good boy but he could be a bit of a grump at times!
Mr. Droopy and Goopy, Miss Merry!
Thank you, Linda.
I adored him, Lori. I did enjoy the rainy day.
He was contemplating the fate of the world, Cheerful.
They do love to sing the song of their people, Sue.
I'm surprised. I've had 3 and they are rather large personalities, AC.
Howard certainly sounds like he had plenty of personality! A hundred pounds of attitude with that mix must have kept everyone on their toes.
I hope y'all get that rainy afternoon. I'll gladly trade outside chores for a good soaking, too.
A hundred pounds of attitude - that must have taken some getting used to. Bu he looks docile enough in your pic.
He did have, Jane. We had rain all afternoon and evening. Wonderful.
He wasn't an over-active dog, but he was demanding. He knew what he wanted, nick!
What a cutie! lol on giving up outside chores.
Howard looks like he was a sweetheart....I love Bassett's!
Rich always wanted a female Bassett so he could cross it with our Jack Russel and have a Jack-assett. We never did, but laughed about it often.
What a beautiful photo!
He was a big 'ol squish, Ivy. It's too wet to do much of anything outside so I have an excuse.
Me, to Dreaming. I've had 3 and they never failed to in making me laugh.
I believe I would have really liked Rich, Val.
