My lovely old Madame in her glory.
I have two rambling roses left. All that remains of the dozens of roses I had. Time takes its toll on all things.
Onto a much different topic....septic tanks. We had ours pumped yesterday. It's more expensive now, like everything else. I consoled myself with the fact we don't have a monthly water/sewer bill. It's another sunny day, which isn't all that appreciated. We desperately need rain. Every day will be warmer than the prior, great. I seem to be in a bah-humbug frame of mind! Ah, well.
Ciao

That is a very lovely rose bush! You do have many flowers on your property. I'd love to see your peonies garden. We also have a septic system and finally got public water around two years ago. Do you have a well?
We have ours pumped every three years...I believe the last time it was $175.00 Your rose is a beauty!
No rain is certainly a reason for Blah. I feel it strongly. And the smoky air. Blah. Gorgeous roses though. One can't feel blah looking at that beauty.
Lori, yes, we do have a well. I have peonies everywhere! I follow none of the peonies rules and yet they thrive.
Far Side, that's what the county wants, every three years. It cost $389.
Denise, I''m so pleased you are back to blogging! We are in a poor air quality alert again. It's so dry the grass crunches underfoot. I have two of these ramblers, the other is not as majestic as the beauty.
Smokey air and haze today...and our septic is every 2 years and it costs...
So I have to dig up the yard every other year.
Bleh.
I turned on the A/C and cleaned the filters.
However, I love love love that rose bush! What kind is it?
Why do you need to dig the yard up, Val?
It's hazy here, too. We have an air quality alert. It's a Rambling Rose.
Sandra, our cover is about 8 inches below the yard surface, so I dig it out every other year.
To put one on the surface would be pricey and require a lot of work, so I dig it. :)
We also had a septic when we lived in VA and you are right that the pumping costs seem to go up I seem to recall that only had it pumped out 2X in the dozen years we lived there. The last time was because of the house being sold. The benefit of one less monthly bill is a good one. Thankfully, water is included in the apt rent, so once again we escape it. Hope you do get rain and wish I could send you some of what we had all day long on Saturday and possibly later today, Sunday.
