The phlox are out of control.
None were actually planted here, it was another flowerbed that started this invasion.
This vase was tipped over during the night. The glass didn't break, the water did spill. One of two culprits. I'm sure you can guess who the two are. Someone had tight naughty pants. My grandma crocheted the small doily. I bet that's a word the youngers don't know.
We have a break in the heat for a couple of days so this afternoon will be spent on the mower. What would I do if we lived in a condo? Mark will never live in a condo. He audited a condo association long ago and, well, let's say he couldn't wait to be done. We may end up in a nursing home but it won't be a condo.

Now that is one invasion I would thoroughly enjoy! They are just beautiful!! Too bad somebody caused water on your table...but so glad the vase didn't break.
We're supposed to get into a stretch of mostly 70s for a while--hurray! I think I am looking forward to the crispness of fall more than usual this year. ;)
This is where I say it all depends on the condo development. I live in one and get such care and friendship from neighbors, sometimes in solidarity against the board (!) that I could never replicate in assisted living where you pay people for service.
After a recent accident, my neighbors changed my car tire, found a good local body shop, drove it in, kept track and brought it home again. Another group mopped and picked up the kitchen where the outer wall was hit, same accident, its complicated, causing shelves to come down, called my insurers, were present to make sure contractors listened to me. Did I mention they brought food too?
But it's a two way street. They can call on me, and often have.
Down from the splintery old soapbox now.
On another subject, I had to give up cut flowers when I had cats. From breaking the container to pulling out the flowers to drink the water, they couldn't coexist with flowers.
They are beautiful, Rita. It's that they choke everything else out! I think we are going to be hot again.
It isn't the condo living that bothered him. I was the association or board. They kinda drove him nuts. You live in an unusually friendly, helpful place, Boud.
For the most part I have given up but every now and then I try. This on the table was a bust, Boud!
I’m glad you are getting a little break from the heat. 🤞
We know doilies. Ours have a history, but I don’t know what it is. Sue does.
So am I, Cheerful!
I guess you aren't a younger, AC! Anything I have that was crocheted was done by my grandma.
Phlox and Day lilies so pretty together!
I have doilies my great grandmother made. And a needlepoint sampler that hangs on the wall in my bedroom was made by her hands 85 years ago when her daughter, my grandmother, was expecting twins. I love stuff like that. Your flowers are beautiful. I'm really good at neglecting flowers. I have ONE box of them on the front porch, they're dahlias this year but despite a ton of buds, they aren't blooming. It's weird.
Did you question the cats?
