A Little Ginger Spice

Let us honor orange cats.
Or so says Gatto.
Tabby wanted nothing to do with the honor if it included Gatto.

 Enjoy today. Be like Gatto.

Cats have it made! That is a very pretty granny square afghan!

I'm glad that Gatto got his chance on the lap on the rocker.

My granny made it for me, Far Side.

He waits patiently for Jiggs to exit, AC.

I love cat expressions and attitudes! We've had two ginger kitties in our lives. Both adopted us! One climbed on our screen door as a kitten, mewing piteously, being very hungry and thirsty. He never left until he went off into the woods to die as an elderly cat in poor hearth health - at least that was our assumption. The other was a sweet little barn cat we named "Stormy". Stormy turned out to be a she! I have a few posts on the blog about her, if you care to search for Stormy.

I was never a cat person, my mom instilled a phobia in me as a child. Then Lyssa and her hubby moved in with us for awhile and we had Pixel here. She's a small cat, and very polite. No scratching or biting, she liked to snuggle, and never bothered the furniture or any of the usual things cats do to aggravate. Now I'm a cat fan. Gatto is such a nice boy, you're lucky to have him and he's lucky to have you!!

The afghan makes me think of my own grandmother, she was always doing granny squares. I have several things she made, I treasure them. I even have a needlepoint sampler made by my great grandmother for my grandma when she was expecting my dad and his twin brother. It's religious in nature (which I am NOT) but it hangs on the wall in my bedroom anyway. Now I lay me down to sleep...

What a joy to see them. Gatto reminds me of my childhood cat Binky. He was a Ginger Tom and according to my mind, he was 'my cat'. According to my sister as she told me years later, 'No, he was my cat!' No matter, we both loved him dearly.

Gatto looks like the cat who's trying to move in here. Was there a memo? Does Gatto have a blog?

Orange cats are interesting.

Morris the Cat was orange. Love it! Did you know the original Morris the Cat was a stray that was picked up in 1968 and found at an animal shelter in the Chicago Area?

Anyway. Love these shots of Gato, he has the life!

I have four cats that were born to a stray in my barn in 2015. Both Gatto and Frieda were stray kittens. They do find us, Dreaming.

Old afghan, Cheerful. Thanks.

Gatto is all the things Pixel is not, Ami! I frequently tell him no good deed goes unpunished!

I am fortunate to have several items my grandmother crocheted. I should go old school and take them out to use.

Pinky had double the love and affection, Denise.

I wouldn't put it past the boy, Boud. He probably has a blog directed at all stray orange cats with a map showing where the suckers are in their area.

Sandra said...

Yes, I do, Linda!

That's a good way of putting it, Dora!

I did not know that, Val. He does. He also can drive me nuts.

This IS the good life! LOVE it. Cats (and our pups), have it made in the shade. As they should.

They really make a house a home, don't they? Lovely afghan!

Sandra said...

He's been taught his manners, nick!

Sandra said...

Indeed, as they should, Ivy.

Sandra said...

They do. It would be lonely without out a pet or six, e.

Gatto is a handsome boy! Cuddling with a cat (or dog) lowers your blood pressure. How can anybody not love them--lol! ;)

Sandra said...

He thinks so, Rita. They rarely cuddle with me, only Mark.
