This is a grocery store about two miles east of us. It was built about a year ago. There is a lot of affluence in the West Metro. There's also farmers and small towns and the rest of us. I have not been there, I haven't been much of anywhere for a few years.
I'd say this isn't the average coffee area in a grocery.
Today the SNAP (food stamps) benefits end. Minnesota will support it for as long as is possible, which can't be that long, I'm sure.
We had matzo ball soup for lunch.

A seating arrangement INSIDE the grocery store's coffee shop is a new one for me, not seen in even in the better areas. I see stairs. Does this market have two levels?
About ten years ago, maybe a little more? They built a new Kroger Supercenter in the city near us. We took a field trip because we wanted to see if it was true there was a bar in the liquor section. There was. We were there in the morning and it wasn't open yet, but I took photos to show my co-workers. An employee came up and said not to worry, the bar would be opening shortly. I must have looked like someone who travels to grocery stores to drink alcohol. The bar was removed during Covid and has not made a comeback.
I love the motto at the coffee shop, “Life is short. Stay awake for it.”
I hadn't noticed, Shirley but it appears it does. I will get over there sometime to see what's what.
That's funny, Miss Merry. There are days......😄
I try, Cheerful!
Yup! That's the fanciest coffee area in a grocery store I have ever seen--lol! I was also wondering where the stairs went.
Hope you are having a great weekend. :)
Am I in spam?
Wegmans was started in the Rochester area and it is a very popular and gorgeous place to shop. The flagship (in Rochester) is loaded with all kinds of specialty areas. Nice that you have options nearby.
Your soup looks wonderful and that store is very nice. Our grocery markets are collecting food from their customers to give to those in need. I guess a lot of places do that and it will be needed more than ever.
What a pretty store! My biggest complaint is a dirty store:( From the gals I have seen going in and out of Social Services with designer handbags and dressed to the nines getting into vehicles newer and more expensive than mine...I am sure the whole SNAP program needs to be re evaluated:)
Aside from the coffee area, I am thinking that even most republicans are generous people at heart and not happy to see food programs compromised.
That's an amazing display of fruit and veg. Even our big supermarkets don't have that much.
I must get myself over there, Rita.
