Staggering Figures

To date;  8.5 TRILLION is the current tab for the bailout of banks and Wall Street, 60% of the nation's GNP. 5.5 TRILLION has come through the Federal Reserve, which can act on its own without Congressional authority or oversight. China owns us.

2004 I was often found saying "We won't survive another 4 years of Bush." Was I prescient or aware? This is one time I am not pleased about being right. I have fought the urge to say "I told you so" but I am so overwhelmed by this it's sneaking out. Those of you who know me remember my lone voice on HMW and how I was mocked.

Looking backward does no good, but looking forward isn't so uplifting either. We are in for a whole world of trouble, I fear. I say hang on, it's going to be a bumpy ride. You can quote me.

More gloomy news : ( You and my Dad were right! He is the nay-sayer in our family and he has been 'predicting' this since the 80's. I think he might even be glad it happened because he is finally right : )
just kidding....no one is happy about the current state of things.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is HMW? If it is too complicated to explain don't worry. I will look it up : )

Bye for now,

HMW - HorsesMidWest
A now mostly defunct internet forum that had a very active political forum at on time. I used to be rather active on it : ) and I was one of only a couple of participants that wasn't far to the right of center. I was the only voice screeching about the economic state of affairs and where it was going to lead. I was ridiculed, sometimes viciously, by the participants of that forum and I got frustrating trying to speak reason to fools and quit. By that time it had morphed into a different site, but same people. It was a real eye opener for me, as I got a good look at the general voter of the country. Very depressing. There used to be a poll tax to keep blacks from voting. I think perhaps a brain tax would be a very good idea, but that might be perceived as elitist. :) :)

I agree with your dad, we started down this road in the eighties, Bush practiced the economic ideology that has got us here on steroids. So here we are, your dad and I were right and I have never been so unhappy about being right in my life.

so glad you are home, and hopefully up and about sooner than later!!

i can remember ashley's dad talking about this around the dinner table when i would visit as a teenager.
you both had much wisdom. i hope the people making decisions, on the bumpy road forward will glean much from the wisdom of those like ya'll who were right! so far i am not so sure about all the ins and outs of this, but 8.5 TRILLION!!

thanks for the HMW explanation, i was lost too. :)

Sometimes I forget that everyone who reads this isn't privy to the insider stuff. Some of the friends I have, that I have met and become real friends with, are people I met off that old forum, so it is easy to converse as if everyone knows what I'm saying. It's a bad habit.

Christy, we may have been right, but I hope to be wrong about where this is going.
