When advocating for those in need we served people called invisables. These people, consciously or not, worked hard and were successful at becoming invisable. We see them all the time, or rather, they pass us all the time unseen. The population of invisables is growing at an alarming rate. Middle class america disappears and becomes nobody. It's not long before they become invisable, too.
I wish it was only, "curiouser and curiouser." I might be able to live with that.
I'm sorry your world sux so bad just now but without hope we are in dire straits indeed so keep hoping. ☺ I don't really understand ~but then I don't get our politics either. I'm a simple soul. If someone is hungry, feed them. If they are cold, give them a coat. If they are on the streets, shelter them. Politics makes it all so complicated & money, or the lack of it, gets in the road of simply doing what is morally right & spiritually necessary.
Ay! that was truly the case before in their infinite wisdom the Supreme Court - not so Supreme to my taste - gave corporations "personhood".
The majority were hoods already so why to grant them the "person" part continues to nag me ad nauseam. And of course it validates the evil they continue to perpetrate in the name of greed. Their god and guidance.
It was Edward S. Herman who emphasized the importance of "normalizing the unthinkable." "So doing terrible things in an organized and systematic way rests on 'normalization.' This is the process whereby ugly, degrading, murderous, and unspeakable acts become routine and are accepted as 'the way things are done'".
Can we say Abu Ghraib? Guantanamo? Wisconsin? can we say Republicans against the American people?
Sorry, I am so tired of trying to believe in order to be betrayed by hope that I am about to shut up for good when it comes to last gasps of hope involving government.
