Minnesota has decided to stop toying with us. It's 8 F at the moment. We had a high of 12 F yesterday. Back to reality for a few days. I made turkey stock yesterday, resulting in three 64 oz containers. Two for the freezer, one to use now.
A photo I received a couple of days ago of Matthew and his Homer. He does love his doggo. This little stray won the lottery.
Speaking of lottery winners....this orange dervish loves loves loves boxes. There is always a fresh supply.
That's all the news. Life limps along. Go with it or be left behind. My sage advice.

Homer looks quite critical there!maybe he's too dignified to be held up like that, heh.
Keep warm, if possible. Great that you got the outdoors organized before the cold weather set in.
Boud, Homer does! Yes, the extended mild weather gave us a chance to get it cleaned up. Mark still has two large trees to cut up, but he has to wait on Bill for that. Bill has the big chainsaw.
Homer is the dude! Your son and Homer look very happy together.
Yep, it got chilly willy. Even I thought it was cold since I wasn't used to it yet.
Sounds like turkey soup will be on the menu soon!
Cats and boxes = fun!
What a great photo of your son and his Dear Homer. You can never go wrong showing Gatto, he looks comfortable in his box hideaway.
I truly, truly love your sage advice!!
Stay warm,
Kaye
That's a lot of stock. Next time I make a turkey, I'll make stock as well.
Cats do love boxes. I watched the rescue of a cheetah, stuck in an open well. They lowered a metal box into the well, 50 feet, and sure enough, the cheetah climbed in.
Val, my son adores his Homer! And he is a dude.
Today is warmer and it will be for several days. I don't what it is about a box this guy is so enamored with!
Kaye, I usually would advice against my advice, but in this case what I think it's sound! Gatto has taken over the role of star in this house.
Pixie, it is a lot of stock. I needed my large stockpot. I also fill the pot with a large freezer bag of vegetable and aromatics scraps.
That's really interesting about the cheetah.
Nice photo of your son and Homer:) Always good to hear a happy rescue story! Yes it was cold...maybe warming a bit today:)
Far Side, I was on the phone with him while he was taking a walk. This little, scruffy dog was following him and he didn't know what to do. Mother told him to take him home, see if you can find the owner. He did, they didn't, so Homer found a home!
Ouch! 8 degrees!
Lori, today is supposed to be mild, above freezing!
The Orange Dervish and his Box, adorbs, he looks so benign lying in there... I know, looks can be deceiving. Oddly Eli leaves Princess T's Christmas Tree alone and tears up everything else in her room, go figure. I can see that your Canine Won the Dog Lottery... the Human has been well Trained... smiles.
