A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Here we are, Thursday and ten days into October already. I always believed time dragged on when days are mostly the same. I guess that is a myth. I had two exciting events Wednesday: I mowed and I made a loaf of bread. Look out world, I'm on fire. At least there are a few embers. Sort of.

Today will be low 80s F, meaning I will be washing the outside of the windows. This is done with a bucket of soapy water, a sponge mop and a hose. It needs to be on the warm side when spraying water at glass. Somehow it bounces back at you.

I have to wait until the asian lady beetle and box elders die off before washing windows again. The dirty little things leave poo tracks on the windows each warm afternoon until the cold kills them. The screens get grubby too. I'll wash the windows but leave the screens or take them off of our south facing windows.

YOU are busy! What a whirlwind.

I, for one, am very impressed with everything you accomplish!
I am glad I do not live in hurricane country. I do not know how people do it. I was evacuated three summers ago because of a wildfire and it was very stressful. No harm came to my neighborhood.
Take Care,
Kaye

Yes, a couple more days in the 80s again. But the chilly nights foretell the true future--lol! One must clean the windows in the wet mist while one can. ;)

Let's just say a slight breeze. I have those bugs, too, but need to do it while I can.

Thank you, Kaye. It feels good to be able to do some things again. I've never experienced a disaster and don't need to. Let us hope.

You got that right, Rita! Do it while you can.

I'm impressed with your ambitious window washing. I look at mine and think somebody should tackle them.

The Merry Maids came this morning for the bi-weekly cleaning. Does that count? I do love my uncluttered apartment. That's my contribution. 😊

It was a little too chilly today for a bucket of water outside, but nice and warm in the sunshine. Your bread looks so delicious!!!!

Washing windows is something I wish I could do but I find it difficult to reach the windows

You are on fire! 80 degrees? We barely hit 50 and it will be in the high 30s tonight! Yikes!

P.S. I really like that "you" like what you are doing/accomplishing. It is a good place to be when you are happy with yourself.

A prime candidate.......Gary? The windows would be done in no time.

It certainly does, Cheerful. And appreciating their work is a valid contribution.

By the time I was done I looked like I'd been in the shower fully dressed, Miss Merry! I put fresh rosemary in the dough, it is good.

Inside I use a step-stool, Jo-Anne. Outside I use a hose and mop. It works pretty well.

There are embers, Lori. I have 4 years of neglect to catch up on and I not running on a full tank, so it takes more time than it should. I'm getting somewhere, though. This is not normal for us to be so warm, but I'm not sure there is a normal anymore.

Once upon a time I was a doer, Kaye. So, yes, I am pleased to be getting things done, albeit, slowly. It's still getting done.

I accuse you of just loafing around.
