Friday

Someone is peeking.
This is what $55 looks like from my online Thrive Market order. I think this is about what normal now looks like, cost wise. I needed to add to the order for free shipping, so why not chocolate bars? Why, yes, thank you. I haven't used canned pumpkin in I don't know how long. My normal is to roast pumpkin for pie, but I didn't get one and it won't matter. Boud talked about dried cranberries and how she likes to use them. I saw these and bought them. I have shredded zucchini in the freezer, maybe zucchini bread with cranberries?

I did follow through on the bread front. I made two ciabatta loaves..

and four French loaves.

I had a productive baking day. We had the last of the ragu for dinner, it was three meals worth. I do like that. Reheat a repeat. We shall see what fascinating things I get up to today. Cat claws need clipping.....

That bread looks delicious. I've never tried anything from Thrive Market but I would love to! Are you going to make anything with the chocolate bars or are you going to just snack on them? Let us know how they are!

Groceries are pretty darn costly here.

Definitely try the cranberries in breads! And either I'm getting stronger or food is getting more expensive, because I could never lift $50 in groceries in the olden days. Yes, I'm stronger, that's it.

The bread looks great! $55 doesn't buy many groceries anymore.

I love making bread, Rita!

No, the chocolate is for my indulgence! They are good.

Yes, supply shortage of many things during covid seems to have allowed all industry to hike prices, even when supply chain is no longer an issue.

Sandra said...

That's it, Boud. Now I know why I so easily picked up the box!

Sandra said...

No. Once prices went up during the supply chain problem prices stayed up, even after the issue was gone.

If only I could learn to make bread like this! I use dried cranberries a lot...especially in salads with apples and pears.

I see kitty is hoping for some of your haul. I don't know of any British equivalent of Thrive Market, but it looks like a great idea. Healthy foods can be absurdly expensive.

Yum. I will take the chocolate please....Love love Chocolate!

Lori, bread really is not as difficult as people think. There are so many recipes out there for easy bread. I've had dried cranberries but I haven't used them myself.

Sandra said...

It's all sliced and frozen. One loaf is cubed for dressing.

Thank you, Cheerful.

Yes, he's peeking, hoping I don't see him, nick. I place an order every couple of months for items I like from there. They have good herbs and spices.

You and me, Val!
