More lovely light.
I've been struggling with the realization of what happened two weeks ago and what it will mean. Seeing this beautiful light filtering into a room lifts my spirits. I'm deeply, seriously trying to live the moment. It is so not me, but it must be my approach if I am to stay mentally and emotionally stable. Well, that may be a stretch for me.
So, keeping my weekly routine of Monday laundry, two loads washed, two more to go. Mark is on his second day of manure spreading, he has until perhaps 3:00 before we get rain. Tomorrow he will get the windows in the barn as we are going to go to normal November temperatures. The beasties would complain. I got the glass kitchen doors and the kitchen window washed yesterday. Suddenly it is brighter in there.
That's all the news for now. Another coffee and another load of laundry up next.

Virtual hugs. I am with you. I would like to just cancel the holidays. And I am over peopling. I am so defeated. Hope you get some sunshine in your life.
Speaker Johnson said Trump has picked these people for his cabinet because he wants to shake things up. How's that for an answer as to why he selected them even if they were not qualified? There are an awful lot of people working behind the scenes to try and protect us....let's see what happens. In the meantime....carry on. Let's see if there is any justice in this world.
Miss Merry, the sun is gone and rain is on the way. Kind of a metaphor for the future, I think. Thanksgiving is just us, so I don't have to people. Thankfully.
Ah, I just wrote some depressing stuff, so I erased it so as to not bring you down.
Lori, as much as I hope this is so, I don't know how it would happen. The governing institutions are under that party's control. The highest legal authority is, as well. Along with many federal judgeships. We are not a parliamentary system.
For two big reasons I am trying to live in the present moment. I'm having more success with the personal event one but am having more trouble with the anticipation of the one for the country. I am working at it, as you are. :)
That's ok, AC. I have a good idea where this will lead. My only hope is I'm wrong, but the authoritarian playbook that has been used for a very long time is playing out here. There were men carrying flags with swastikas marching on a sidewalk in Columbus, Ohio. This has become acceptable.
It's hard work, Rita. It's not my basic nature.
Immigration is still possible for those with able bodies and skilled jobs.
I think there's more going on behind the scenes to protect us. Mitch already denied him his recess appointments, gop say he doesn't have the votes for AG, and they Speaker will have a ONE seat majority. There are gop starting to talk back. Meanwhile I'm doing my bit, as you are. Tending to your own daily well-being is important.
Exactly
It's scary stuff! All we can do is live our values and focus on areas where we have some control.
PS I love your title and picture.
I don't trust the gop, Boud. When it comes down to it, they fold. Those that didn't where ousted. We will see where this goes, that's a given.
That's sadly true, Cheerful.
Thank you!
I watched a video the other night that was an interview with a 95 year old woman. She said she lived in the moment by just noticing things. Like how sunlight falls in a room. Or leave on the ground. Things that she could feel, hear, and see that were in her environment.
It was a good lesson in disconnecting for a bit from the awfulness of news and other things that distract us.
Since I am a daydreamer, I do that anyway. It works.
That is good advice, but advice I'm not good at taking. I am trying, though, Val. I have to.
Trump is shaking things up thats for sure. Out with the old and in with the new...it might work out! It rained all day yesterday lots of puddles but no snow yet.
Living for the moment is good as is enjoying what is all around you. This is a good approach, Sandra. Laundry keeps my mind occupied as well, but the best part is when it's over and done.
Apparently in some countries it's normal for windows to open inwards and not outwards, so the outsides can be cleaned easily even on upper storeys.
Goodness, you have a lot of laundry to get through!
I agree with that, Dorothy.
I put in windows in 2017 that pivot. I've never used it because I don't think of it. Maybe I should, nick!
I love the wood and all the windows in that room. I'm angry today again, because of that POS and our own POS. I feel helpless and hopeless.
I liked all the windows until I had to replace them in 2017. Then I questioned my judgement, Pixie! I am trying to stay focused on the now, but I'm not made that way. Which means my success rate is limited.
We've had light snow today.
I just stumbled upon your blog from Pixie's blog. Like you, I have been really rattled with "the felon" winning the election. I am beside myself with worry. I try and keep busy and enjoy the simple things in life. I have stopped listening to the news as it just upsets me so. It just goes beyond my comprehension how a majority of people in the country could have voted for him. I don't think I will ever get it. Michael (in Virginia)
Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful light in your room. There's plenty of light, you just gotta find, and work for it (like you said, you cleaned the glass door and it's brighter in there). Hang in there. My son is coming later today for a weekend project in the backyard. Grateful I live in a no snow state.
Hi, Michael, thanks for visiting. I also don't watch the news or read too many articles. Delusional thinking seems to have become common. I understand it on a level, the long history of despots gaining control and how it's done. This is the same old playbook. What is hard is that it always works.
Hi. Thanks for your comment. I like winter, but I don't need to drive in bad weather, so it helps me to like winter! Light is hard to come by in November in Minnesota, but I do try.
