Ouch!

I did a stupid thing to myself a few days ago. I won't go into the details, but I ended up in a position of butt hitting floor with a plop, sending screeching pain into the lower lumbar. Yah, I did this. Yes, my back had finally begun to feel better, then....well I am in pain. I've been absent because sitting at my desk is painful, or more painful, and I don't use my phone for blogger. It is somewhat better, which is why I am here now. I will check in on one and all throughout the day, short periods of time at the desk.

The day of the butt plop I made chocolate pistachio ice cream in the morning. I didn't have enough eggs on hand to make gelato.

I also made walnut bread and....

Rye with flax meal.

Mark has been tending to me like a mother hen. He picks up lunch and dinner. Last evening I was able to make a boneless pork loin, as that required little effort. Between a back brace, a heating pad and pain meds I am slowly coming around. It feels like nerve pain, sharp and stabbing, mainly on the right side of my back. Please do avoid landing on your behind, it hurts.

Blogging via phone would be very tough, but a few do it. I’m a computer guy, but I can sometimes manage with my ipad. I would still be hard pressed if I didn’t have a keyboard for it. Can we use keyboards with phones? Hmmm?

Sorry about the fall. Ouch! 😩

Oh no, not what you needed at all, be kind to yourself while you heal up.

Falls seem to cause so much damage as we age. I hope it heals up quickly.

If it's any consolation, landing on your hip is not an improvement. I broke mine the end of July last year and spent 45 days away from home. I made sure I had my iPad with me and continued to post every day using it. It took some new learning but it worked, and I managed to heal the hip without surgery.

I hope your pain goes away soon!

Oh no!! That's awful! I hope you feel better and better. All the goodies you made before the fall look great and how you managed to cook with back pain...well, you must be a little better.

I can't use my phone well at all for even emails--lol! I use voice to text for texts to Dagan and Leah and that is often a crazy funny experience. ;)

Rest up and I hope you are feeling lots better soon. *hugs*

Oh my goodness. Back pain is awful, too. You don't realize how you pretty much use your back for everything you do until it's hurting you. Hope you heal fast.

Back pain is no joke. I get back pain now and then and all I can do is work around it. I hope your back recovers quickly.

So sorry to hear about your accidental...boom, crash, butt plop. I suspect you were probably practicing cartwheels with a spin landing. You know, we probably shouldn't be doing those things right?
I sure hope you start to feel better very soon.
Your food always looks delicious!

I have trouble seeing what I'm doing on blogger when I use the phone, AC. I'm still painful, I'll see how today goes.

Just as I was improving, Kaye.

You are right, not at all what I needed, Far Side.

Me, too, e!

I've had poor balance for 14 years, Pixie. One of the side effects of a brain injury. It's gotten worse with age and the fact I've spent so much time with limited mobility. Which is why I should know better than to put myself ins any position where there is limited control.

I remember your time in the care center after you broke your hip. You had a fast and successful recovery, Cheerful.

I may need to see someone for this. Nothing feels broken and it's not my spine but the area to the right of the lower back and upper buttocks. Very painful, Rita.

I can text on my phone, it's made for that, but blogger is not.

Thank you, Ivy.

Thank you, Ami. It's my own fault.

Thanks, nick.

You caught me, Val! I used to be in gymnastics as a teen. I guess I had a senior moment and thought I was back there in time 😄

Ouch ! That hurt just reading about your fall and aftermath. I can commiserate as this week I am dealing with perhaps a pulled or strained muscle and should know more after a visit to our nurse practitioner later this week. My balance is also not great, but this injury was not the result of a fall. Hope you will be feeling better soon with care and rest. The breads and roast pork looked 😋

You have my sympathy, Dorothy. I'm feeling some improvement but I think this will take some time.
