Relief

Finally. Finally. The temperature and humidity have both lowered. It's been a long, hot summer. I should be outside taking advantage of the opportunity to work in the gardens. Instead, I'm drinking coffee and typing. Working, being active is a habit and it's one I have broken. Small steps, as is said.

I did busy myself yesterday morning making sandwich buns and baking chicken for the lunch sandwiches. It's difficult for me to realize I have become a Haus Frau. At least more so than an active outside person. Life does throw obstacles, doesn't it? On the positive, I'm doing well with PT, I just need to stay on top of my exercises. And also, to stop doing stupid things which set me back. There's the hard part.

My yard is ablaze with phlox. They are beautiful and obnoxiously invasive. About fifteen years ago I planted a small amount in one of the flower beds. Now, they have taken over, an invasion of the phlox is successful. Also, morning glory. This does not spread to other areas but it has consumed the garden it's in. Every plant is covered with the vines. Ah..... the troubles, the troubles.

Another leftover meal. The lunch chicken became part of dinner. Can't beat that.

Is any day complete without a photo of a cat. A Gatto Cat? I think not.

Yes cooler here too but smoky so no outside time or us. I want to be a cat:)

We are hazed out with smoke, but the cool air is nice. I have to close up the house now so the nasty air doesn't irritate the other half.
Morning glories galore! I'm going to have a mess of them and I don't really mind.

I'm itching to get out but the smell of the air stinks.

A phlox invasion doesn't sound too terrible.

A phlox invasion is better than an invasion of body snatchers:)
Gatto looks like he landed in the right place. Lucky guy.

Yay for the cooler weather! I am jealous, it has been so hot here. Your bread turned out amazing!!!

I can think of worse invasions than morning glory or phlox. At least they're quiet. Chicken sandwiched with home made bread is great.

If I was going to be invaded I would hope it was by phlox and morning glories. There are so many worse things--lol!
Those buns do make me hungry! Time to make something for dinner. Won't ever be as good as your leftover meals. ;)
Always glad to see Gatto.

We were warned to expect thunderstorms this afternoon, but so far, thank goodness, no.

Now I'm hungry after looking at food on your blog. No idea what I am doing about dinner, but I probably should do something about it pretty soon, it's 5 PM.

Glad things have cooled off where you are. I HATE the heat.

Your sandwich buns look so wonderful! Our temperatures went down today and instead of sitting on my porch, I baked.

The temperature, heat and humidity have lowered here in Montreal as well...and tomorrow will be hotter; however, after tomorrow it is coming right back and is supposed to last an entire week. Your food looks great....and how can we resist a beautiful, sleeping cat? Gosh, if anyone knows zen and how to relax, it is definitely cats! :)
