Me playing coy when Mark held his phone up and said 'smile'. I created a monster when I showed him how to use it. I had PT yesterday. We discussed my progress and where we go from here. I told her I felt I'd come a long way, that I knew I'm never going to be completely erect ever again, but it's better and I am able to walk more. She seemed satisfied with this. We decided I'd come back in a month to check if I'm progressing or at least holding steady. I am coming to the end of a nearly year long journey with her. She is the only person who took the time to know the issue and do something about it.
The PT did suggest walking sticks, she gave me a pair to try. Wow, where have they been all my life! I came home and ordered a set. They are so much better than a cane and with them I have two weapons to wave in the air. It's a win-win.
The heat and humidity is supposed to lessen on Saturday. Saturday cannot come soon enough for me. Just making this simple pasta dish had me soaked with sweat. I think cooking may be off the menu until Saturday. Whatever is done will be done in the airfryer.
Okay, time for some toast and another cuppa joe.

I'm glad you found this PT. She's made such a difference in your life. Are the sticks the kind hikers use? They're supposed to be great for posture and secure walking too.
Yes, they are, except they have rubber tipped ends instead of the medal spike, Boud. They helped me walk so much better. Yes, she is a thoughtful person and very good at her job
I’m happy you’ve discovered walking sticks. I love mine. 👍😊
I too love my walking sticks, would not have been able to complete the very difficult hill climb in the Mission Inn 5k two years ago.
Walking sticks good for you anything that helps!
You look fantastic!!!! I have used walking sticks and love them. You have come a long way baby!!!
I know I will love them, too, Cheerful.
The PT said she should have thought of this soon. I'm just glad she thought of it at all, B&B. It was such a transformation when I walked around with them.
I agree with that, Far Side.
Well, thank you, ma'am! It's an uphill climb, Lori, but I'm better.
Do not forget to give yourself credit for finding the people who made you feel seen and heard. I really admire you for taking charge of your treatment.
You look very cute in that photo
Stay Safe,
Kaye
Three cheers for Gov. Newsome for trolling...you know who, I can't say his name.
That’s a great photo of you! I am going to look up your walking sticks. I used a cane and found it uncomfortable at any height. Thanks for all the info. So nice that you have a PT instructor you have confidence in. Your meal looks delicious!
I do see people using those sticks. A cane for damage on just one side probably works better for me.
walking sticks are a good way to avoid suspicion... you can use them and no one will accuse you of having a blunt instrument but when you need one....
Glad to hear the physio has been helpful. Pain when you're walking is no fun.
My dad used walking sticks before they were a thing. He just had a long stick. He said his PT person suggested that back in the 1990's so that he would walk upright instead of leaning while using a cane.
Makes perfect sense.
He also quipped that he could use the stick like a ninja.....LOL!
We do need to advocate for ourselves in a private equity owned medical system, Kaye. Thank you for calling me cute, I don't know if I've ever had that directed at me. Thanks!! There are dems saying he should stick to the issues, I say why don't you broadcast the issues. Instead of twiddling your thumbs. thumbs.
Why, thank you, Denise! When I tried the sticks I was able to be much more upright and I walked with more comfort. It amazed me.
I use a cane but the walking sticks keep me more upright, AC.
Exactly, Ami! The ones with the spiked ends would be ideal.
It sure isn't, nick.
Your dad was a wise man, Val. I want to be a ninja!
A good PT is such a godsend and not all are up to the job. Glad you are improving and the sticks are helpful.
Glad to hear the PT has helped. Walking around in pain takes its toll.
Ohhhh, noodle salad. I bought some noodles the other day at Grocery Outlet to make a noodle salad. I just like the simple yum of it all. Yours looks great.
Very cool on the walking sticks!
I love that picture of you. That's a very GOOOOOD one.
She is a blessing, e. She really cares about her work.
It does, Jane. Who would think the simple action of moving across a room to be so wearing.
Well, thanks, Ivy! This old bat will happily accept that. Pasta is the protein used most in this household.
The walking sticks sound excellent, I'll have to keep that in mind, plus weapons:) That's a lovely photo of you.
They are a huge help. Mine arrived yesterday, Pixie. I have a habit of waving my cane in the air when I talk. These may seem a bit too threatening for that, but a great weapon, indeed! Thank you, I don't care for being photographed, but age has taken some of that reticence away.
