Smoky Sunday

We had another smoky day Saturday. I stayed inside and puttered. I am a skilled putterer. I hope to get out later today if the smoke clears. I have my weeding mojo activated. I learned my lesson when I mowed a few days ago. Sore throat and headache were my reward. It can't be good for the animals.

Crabby Tabby contemplating life

I made a blueberry compote for our after lunch ice cream and served it warm. It just cannot get better than that. Melty ice cream and sweet blueberries. Ah, yes. Seize the moment!

Since I was trapped inside I decided to make pizza dough and then later made the pizza. It's been a while since I've made a pizza. The weather is temperate so a hot oven wasn't a problem. A nice, quick dinner. I could eat an entire pizza and probably everyday. But I don't.

Goodday, one and all. Eat the ice cream, enjoy the pizza.

That all looks great. Better than weeding.

The air is horrid so baking and cooking is a great activity!

I had the best pizza that I've eaten in years, while in Vancouver. It had a very thin sourdough crust. OMG, amazing.

Yes to both please! Our air quality is not very good today, but so far I did not feel an impact from it. We still need for you to send us some rain.

It all looks delicious. Making food sounds more fun than packing. ;)

LOVE the blueberries! Sorry about the sore throat. Love that you called it mojo! That's a hoot. I love that word. Cheers and Happy New Week.

I got headaches for 3 days in a row after being outside in the smoke to do chores. Yesterday wasn't quite as bad, at least there was a breeze.
Weeding in my flower gardens is the next job. Let it go for a week and the weeds go crazy with the warm humid weather!

Staying indoor and puttering sounds good to me and the resulting food looked delicious. While I could devour a pizza, moderation is good because it would leave room for that blueberry compote and ice cream๐Ÿ˜‹

You spelled smoky correctly. I just spelled it with an E in another comment, and it didn’t feel right. It’s quite smoky here lately. Air quality is down a bit. Pizza! I think we missed our usual monthly pizza in July. Oh dear!

I weeded yesterday, Boud. You're right, better that weeding.

It was a bit better yesterday afternoon, Far Side.

That does sound good, Pixie. I messed around with sourdough several years ago. I decided life is too short!

Weather just doesn't listen, Lori!

I agree with that, Rita!

It was good, Miss Merry.

I seized it yesterday, Cheerful. I'm paying for my seizing today. ๐Ÿ˜„

It is somehow a very descriptive word, Ivy!

I let it go for at least a month. The stuff was up to my thigh, Val. Yesterday was better.

We think the same way , Dorothy!

That means you get two pizzas this month, AC. I think smokey is Smokey the Bear.

Ugh on the smoke. I hope it clears soon if it has that effect on you. Thank you for the food pics. They look wonderful!

What we were all to do when we were young, right Jo-Anne.

The wildfire smoke sometimes looks like fog, Denise. It burns the eyes and throat. Thanks about the photos.

Mmmm, the pizza and the blueberry looked fantastic! Stay safe from the smoke. We were in the Bay Area of CA when the Sonoma fires were burning, and the smoke/yellow sky was terrible.

It is awful, Dreaming. The thought of the devastation makes me sad and the smoke keeps me inside more than I like.
