WHIM WOOD - KATHERINE TOWERS

Into the coppery halls of beech and intricate oak to be close to the trees as they whisper together let fall their leaves, and we die for the winter.

Excellent poem. Also this time of year is my jam. Outside again this morning watching the leaves fall all about. Just a delight. Happy New Week!

If you look close you can see next year's leaves getting ready! I like this.

I love your picture. It invites the reader to take the trail, to see what is there. I like the ideas of the trees whispering to each other - one can hear that!

I like it, too, Ivy. Our changing climate has made it different, though. We are still in the 80s F.

I was watching hay racks being moved and saw the shadow and light, Boud.

It says a lot in one sentence, Kaye.

Yes, it is. The winter will be different for you, Val.

Mine, too, Cheerful.

Yes, trees do whisper, Denise.

Although there isn't any color it does seem to look like autumn, Lori.

Yes, it feels quiet, Sue.

I love how this poem captures autumn’s glow, while already hinting at winter’s hush.

This is a perfect way of describing it, Jane. Kind of poetic.

An exquisite scene Sandra and a lovely poem. One of my favorite nature walks is through a forest.

Plenty of trees around here. Denise. We can't keep the forest from taking over.
