brrrrr

Another snowscape from the farm. We're currently 10 F/-12.2 C, dropping to -10 F/ -23.4 C. Hello winter! I hope the ICE Agents zooming in on Minneapolis are all from the hot climate states. Please let it be so.

I made turkey stock a few days ago and turned nearly all the rest of the turkey into soup with my stock. I have lunch for two more days. Yippee!! I don't like coming up with lunch everyday. Bah.

See how it is around here? We are here to serve, make no mistake. They get very cranky if they are moved from the chairs. We can eat on the floor. People say cats are easier than dogs. I beg to differ. My dogs stayed off the chairs and were grateful for every little thing they got from me. A pat on the head, a big wag of the tail and a doggy smile. Cats, well.....

I think I may warm up the kitchen with a little baking. I have a LOT of rhubarb in the freezer so maybe some rhubarb bread. It's been like forever since I made popovers so we'll see if that happens, too.

Your barn looks beautiful!
The meal--delicious!
The cats--typical--but I love them so. ;)
Stay warm!! :)

I like the way you think. I forgot that a lot of ice agents will not be used to winter. And now I am crossing all my fingers and toes that the weather gets really harsh where ever they "deploy" next in this war against our own country.

Another snow day here too! Oven preheating as I type for another mini round of bread to go in. Delightful.

Cats, think "they" say that because cats can be left alone for a weekend. Dogs ... well .... They are a little more work in that sense. But funny that yours are picky about their seats. That sounds like a bit of work for sure.

I'm with you on those ICE agents, and I don't know how you handle minus degree weather. I'm freezing cold when I wake up in the morning and temp registers 65 here.

That is a nice, cold winter scene.
Gotta luv those cats.

That is a beautiful picture of your barn. Cats are wonderful little creatures.

The barn is so beautiful. I had to chuckle at the heater by the cats:)

Send people on their way if they are not here legally! Stay warm it is not real cold yet!

That is cold! Wow. ❤️

Sandra said...

Thank you, Rita. I kinda like the cats, too.

Sandra said...

They may not like it here, Miss Merry!

Sandra said...

I agree Far Side. Do it legally, meaning follow the law of due process. Sending armed people into a community to round up those who look different is not legal.

Sandra said...

True, Ivy. That's the only thing I'd find easier! Little buggers.

Sandra said...

You wouldn't survive here, Shirley! Sometimes we even get to -30 F.

Sandra said...

Might as well love them, they won't change, AC.

Sandra said...

They are bossy. At least ours are. Lori.

Sandra said...

Caught that did you, Pixie. Frieda usually ends up right next to it.

It get worse, Cheerful.

I won't moan about our 43 degrees F. after reading what you are having to put up with. That's a very yummy looking soup to eat on such a chilly day. The snow photo is really beautiful and the description of your sweet little cats made me smile.

Perfect weather for ICE! I notice the onset of cold weather in Chicago made them declare victory and withdraw!
I've found all my cats not demanding, just expecting their rights..

Lori Skoog said...

Please, don't let us get your weather! That is way too cold for me. The attention being given to Minnesota by ICE does not look good and the comments made by T regarding the immigrants living there were absolutely pathetic. I turned the last of my turkey into turkey salad....have reached my capacity. Cats and chairs go together.

Beautiful and heartwarming photos! I love Winter, and I love cats! :)

I made turkey stock and soup, too...with the same noodles that you used! Believe it or not, it's the first time I've ever made soup. I wasted all of those lovely bones before! I will never forget seeing my MIL's rear end after she had dinner at our home one night...the cat had been sleeping in the chair she used and her rear end was covered in cat hair!

43 is downright balmy, Denise!

Love your farm! I'd go out to the silo and just holler to hear myself echo.
Looks like you have to get extra chairs for the humans!
I made soup over the weekend that doesn't look pretty like yours, but I could eat it!
;)

Minneapolis has not turned into a Somali nightmare, Boud. They have lived here a long time and most are citizens. My son lives in the city and it's not burning. This is sissiness toward Walz. The mols police are not going to assist them. The police chief in a press conference said to call 911 is you see them. I hope the thugs freeze their delicate parts.

I forgot, they have rights, those cats do.

Sandra said...

This is crazy, Lori. The Somalis have been here a long time. This is all about retribution. Did you ever think we'd have a president who talks like this? He's the garbage. I have a small amount of turkey left.

Winter and cats seem to go together nicely, Linda.

That is a funny memory, Dreaming. I can't remember when I haven't made my own stock. I save bones in the freezer and I also save the parts of the onions, carrots and celery I'd normally discard. Welcome to the comforting world of soup!

Sandra said...

Good is primary, pretty is secondary, Val! Mark and I draw straws to see who gets the fourth chair. 😀

Soup will be on my menu plan along with fresh baked bread sometime this weekend. Like yourself, I also like when there are leftovers of anything. As much as I enjoy cooking, every day I do not.

Sandra said...

I'm with you on liking to cook but appreciate when I don't need to, Dorothy.

I don't know about lunch but I love the plate. Those cats look very well settled and in no hurry to move.
