Minneapolis, Minnesota. Where my son lives. Where I have lived. Twenty minutes from where I now live. There has not been violence against these thugs. They perpetuate violence. They are met with chanting, yelling, swearing, anger. They are not met with violence. I fear the rise in what was already over-the-top aggression is going to lead to what the whole point of this seems to be. Someone is going to snap. Then we will see if democracy can stand.

I actually watched a Livestream of this yesterday for hours ... really I was transfixed by the actions of the Goon Squad who were just throwing tear gas at people who were chanting and screaming at them.
This was immediately after the murder of another Minnesotan.
How can a crowd of people NOT get angry when people are murdered in their neighborhoods or treated like this?
This is not keeping Americans safe at all.
I also watched yesterday. This has been happening since they got here. It’s just getting more attention. I am so angry, Val. The neighborhoods they have been targeting are not in anyway “gang territory “ which is probably why. They are cowards.
This is me^
I never thought Minnesota would be our front lines. But I also never doubted the people would meet the moment. I have such respect for their -- your -- courage and patriotism.
I could not watch. I saw a short video clip and was sickened. And so angry. I fear what is to come. It will be very ugly, unless a stop is put to this senseless use of force against peaceful people.
By no stretch of the imagination can thugs wielding guns be seen as democracy. This is just rampant machismo.
This is so wrong, on so many levels. And congress just approved funding for them? Scary that so many people look the other way, and others blindly follow the leader.
I’m past the point of giving anyone in power the benefit of the doubt. What’s happening in Minnesota isn’t “security.” It’s intimidation, and everyone can see it. People have every right to be furious when their communities are treated like enemy territory. This isn’t protection. It’s force being used because they think no one will stop them. And the longer it goes on, the more dangerous it gets. Minnesota shouldn’t have to carry this alone, and none of us should pretend this is normal.
I echo Nick's comment.
You already know how I feel about this. What is happening is not by accident. They are going to keep pushing until we are stuck with a civil war. Anything to avoid the November election. Civilized countries around the world can't believe this continues to happen and they totally disrespect T and his goon squad. They laugh at him. Congress has to step up or this is going to go on and on.
I am so sorry. I never ever ever thought I would see anything like this in my country.
The great democracy has failed. I hope that it doesn’t collapse completely.
Thank you, Boud. I wish I could be with them. They made a mistake. This is the land of the Vikings and it's showing.
The outright, in your face lying shows exactly who and what the masters are. Don't believe what you see. Believe what we say. This is going to get worse, Sue.
It's a coup, nick. They are the insurrectionists.
The house did, the Senate Dems have said they will not agree to the bill without the funding removed. We will have another government shutdown, which is ok by this circus masquerading as an administration, Denise.
The people of this country need to band together and stop this. When it's in your backyard the reality hits hard. This is happening, we are turning into a police state. Do we expect armed me in masks marching in our streets assaulting and murdering us? Your response, Jane, says a lot.
Indeed, Linda.
They want Martial Law. The push is on to get a group fighting back. Push long enough and hard enough it will happen, Lori. We are a disgrace.
Either did I, Miss Merry and I have been a longtime observer of the wide open flaws within our system that have allowed for this to happen. Yet, I didn't expect it would. But then I didn't expect a ridiculous goon to be president. Twice.
We are at a critical moment, AC. I'm not doing well mentally. My son and DIL live there. She is at as many protests as possible. I'm proud of her, but as we have seen, it doesn't take much of anything for being mauled or killed.
Violence is what they want, retaliation from the protestors. I think we all know who wants that? November is coming. It's simply comes down to good versus evil.
