Out In The Cold

It is a cold morning; -2 degrees Fahrenheit when I got up this morning and currently 8 degrees. My little patch of frozen land is cold and beautiful. We will be out in the barn all day. Injury and illness have put the work behind. I have been keeping up with the basics only.
Getting up to such a cold morning caused me to make a nice pot of minestrone to have for lunch. We need something warm and fortifying to get us through the day.
I will back to visiting my blogging friends next week. Life is backed up and I don't like it when my world starts to lose its' bearings. My knee is better and Mark is getting better, so life picks up where we left off. Now it's time to venture out and start pitching!

Welcome back! I will bring a loaf of some incredible Irish bread I made yesterday, a bottle of Dolceto d'Alba to share with that soup. Maybe I can go back far enough into my memory to remember how to help with he stables and once again fall in love all over again with the horses.

Until then, don't overdo it and remember to take a break - and I mean one as in sitting down and relaxing - everything else will find its own way for as long as you take care of yourself. Be good to you, you deserve it.

I'm so pleased you're back! It is much duller when you aren't posting & I miss you. Glad everyone is feeling more themselves. ♥

So, do you think you're getting your fastball back? I hope so.

What a beautiful pot of soup! I can almost feel the cold in that first photo, too --

Allegra: If only you could bring yourself for soup. What a time we would have! I did sit down for lunch and later in the day for my cup of tea. Feel gratitude that your stable days are memories, 24 horses can make quite a mess when left to it!

Ganeida: we are getting ourselves back. Thanks for looking in on my old self.

Bruce: Ha! I'm getting there.

Judy: I like soup. I gave most of it away to my neighbor, who was kind enough to come over on a Sunday to take the dead starter out of my skid loader. It decided to die in the barn aisle yesterday.

Elizabeth: The soup had the most wonderful aroma. We are under a cold spell. I guess most of the country is.

Missy: cold is beautiful. It is actually visible.

julochka: in a heartbeat, if I could get to Denmark. Those darn horses.

deb: I puree about 3/4 of the cannellini beans.

gsc: that was me wafting it your way!
