This is not about a difference in political philosophy. This is about humanity over cruelty.

Thanks for publicizing this.

I hope they succeed in saving the food supplies. These are foods designed for starving children to digest, and it's a filthy display of power for its own sake to order them destroyed.

I haven't seen anything about this on the news, Cheerful. I just heard about it Tuesday.

I'd say the odds are not in favor of saving it, Boud. We have gone way past difference of opinion on politics. We have moved into barbarism.

Just tears your heart out. Makes me ashamed to be a citizen here in Trumpland. :(

I agree, Rita!

I'm feeling deep shame. And sorrow, Rita and e.

Where I am located, videos and links don't go through. Cheers, Ivy.

I'm not ashamed, I didn't vote for that asshole. But I'm angry. All they do is hurt people. I'm in no position to do anything to any of them, but I wish I were.

It's scandalous that food supplies could be destroyed when there are thousands of starving people.

Sandra said...

That's a bummer, Ivy. About 600 metric tons of high protein biscuits already bought and paid for are to be incinerated at the cost of $130,000. Fiscal responsibility and humanity at its finest.

I am ashamed of my country, Ami. The rotted underbelly is in full view.

It's disgusting, derailed and demented, nick. When I think we've hit bottom, it gets worse.

I have seen this on the news and all over some social sites. It is a tragedy that there is such a cruel regime in power. We have not seen the worst in the cruelty yet. Wait for this winter and food shortages and elderly not getting meals on wheels and children going without lunches at school not to mention access to healthcare.

We are entering a very very dark place. My husband says he is happy he is dying but sad to leave me to such a cruel place.

Sandra said...

It is a sad statement on the US that Rich would be glad to be dying and likely mean it. It's hard for me to comprehend all of this. Also hard not to fall into dismay. It makes me angry to know Rich needs to worry about you during the time he has. I haven't let my mind travel to winter. OMG.

I have also seen it on the news. How does T rationalize this, not to mention all the blind and spineless in his corner.? Have you noticed that people in the news never ask him if he enjoys being a DICTATOR? And he is totally responsible for Colbert being let go in May of 2026. He has plenty of time to continue telling the truth and will find a way to continue. I think the states will help keep the breakfast and lunch programs going for children....somehow. But those in other parts of the world continue to suffer.

Sandra said...

If he were asked if he enjoys being a dictator he'd probably say yes, Lori. There are states that will do what they can to cover the loss of federal funding, like MN, but they can't do enough. Enough hasn't been done as it is. Poor states, mostly MAGA, will be where the hammer slams down.

This administration is going to go down in history as the cruel and inhumane presidency, a legacy that will live in shame. I will never forgive how these politicians have divided us. And when all's said and done, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. They can't tell me that they are supporting everyday people.

Sandra said...

The people supporting these politicians have to take on some of the shame themselves, Denise. People who proclaim their christianity while doing the opposite of what their savior supposedly taught them.
