TA-DA!

This is a photocentric post. Beware.

It made sense that some commented in the prior post that it was difficult to judge the change without before photos. In the interest of full disclosure I have photos of the remaining mess. Along with age, it seems, comes a lack of shame.

I do have a rest home for old Macs.

Yesterday I finished with the remaining odds and ends. I decided to leave the relic of a treadmill open, hoping I will use it. I am supposed to do as much walking as possible and this does make walking easier. Gatto likes it as another choice of cat perch. Seeing the photo reminds me I need to put the smoke alarm back over the door.

This took me five or six days but I stuck with it and got it done. Mark called it clean and busy. I bristled. Busy? Well, maybe, but I've had a lifetime of horses and show rings and a collection of a kazillion photos and stuff. What's the point of keeping the things you like and not having them where you can see them? There is no point. I am not a minimalist, fair to say.

Yes, there's a lot of stuff. Your stuff, your choice. Go you!

Perhaps I should take some before pictures of our hell hole....in case I want to do the before and after! You did a great job!

I'm kinda afraid to take pictures of what I have now! I think you did a great job of organizing and paring down. I tell my kids (as they urge me to purge more) that this is my stuff and . . . I'm still here!

Nice! Yes I think you should keep the stuff that you enjoy looking at and those things that make you smile:)

Yes, there are a lot of photos, but as you say what's the point of keeping the things you like and not having them where you can see them?

Ok. I am impressed that you kept on plugging! It’s your office and should reflect you.

So many photos, Boud.

Yes, do before photos. I didn't think about it before it was pointed out, Denise.

I didn't purge much, Miss Merry. Really just kind of moved things around!

Why not, right Far Side?

Lots of years of horses, horse shows and just plain life, nick.

I bet someone didn't notice they were anonymous!

It looks good and I'm sure it feels good being in that room now. When I have stuff to be done, it takes up a lot of room inside my head.

Congratulations! I hope you celebrate, that was a huge job! 😊❤️

It does, Pixie. It's the cleanest room in the house! It has be weighing on me, too.

I'm celebrating by being in a basically dust free room with a clean air purifier filter, Cheerful. I can breathe!

I can see the difference.

I took a lot of my photos of my life with hubby and put them in a memory album and published it as a table top book for myself. I can page through it and admire all the photos I'd plaster the walls with --not many walls in my house!

I love it! You really got after things.
LOL.
I did too tonight and built a tiny cabinet to replace a junky old table in our eating area. [One of those things you order and then have to put together]

I made a LOT of space in my eating area! Wow! Cleaning and organizing is a great thing.
It was a good thing when I couldn't sleep.
:)

It’s a picture-worthy room.Iove all those bookcases or whatever you call them. I liked the afghans too.

It’s your house and you are perfectly entitled to have it any way that suits you. To see books makes my heart sing - and who knew that hearts could sing?

We are keepers, Rita. In so many ways! Soon you will be doing something similar.

Sandra said...

There is a definite difference, Dora.

That's a great Idea, Val. It's good to keep busy, although that is not a worry where you are concerned. Surprising how one seemingly small change can make a big difference.

I call them book cases, AC. They all hold some books! My gramma made the granny square afghan for me when I was a young one.

Sandra said...

I agree, David! A heart can sing and books make beautiful music.

No shame in a mess at any age. I'm a messy person and that's okay with me. LOOOVE that you put your photos out and treadmill too. Place looks good. Loved seeing all the shots.

Thank you, Ivy. I'm a bit surprised at myself for leaving things go so long.

If only I could, Denise!
