Cool and Sunny. Not Me....the Weather.

A bouquet of basil.
I picked it, didn't feel like doing anything with it at the time. It's a bouquet for the moment. It's been chilly this week. Next week we jump up to the mid-to-upper 70s F. The leaves on the ash trees are already changing color. Autumn is on the way. We had a good rainfall last evening, which was very timely as everything needed a watering.

Tripod kitty doesn't really care about any of this. Her biggest concern is that her servants remain obedient. We've been well trained, she needn't worry.
I roasted more tomatoes  and think I will use them on a pizza for this evening's dinner. This sounds like a plan. You know your world has shrunk when the plan for the day comes down to what's for dinner. Ah, well. A day in the life.

One of my friends had a Florida condo for winters. They'd meet neighbors at the pool after breakfast and discuss what they were planning for dinner!

I envy your cool and sunny outdoor walking weather, as it's still extremely hot and muggy around here.

Sad but oh so true, Boud. 😄

I can't say I'm not enjoying it, Shirley!

Cats 🐈 are great, why we love ❤️ them so much. It is cooler here in Montreal as well and a relief.

Who knew basil could look so pretty in a vase?
Always love seeing your cats.
Pizza sounds good.
Enjoy the cooler weather. :)

When I pictured retirement I never thought my whole focus would be a grocery budget, food shopping, and meal planning.

Your basil makes a cute bouquet and I love the lace doily! Tripod kitty is sweet and your coming meal sounds delicious. My sister-in-law gave us her whole harvest of cherry tomatoes. We were talking about doing something similar with them. I don't want a single one to go to waste. We don't get fresh-picked tomatoes too often.

What to make for supper is always a struggle. I saw a funny meme. Family looking for a dominatrix who will tell them what to make for supper every night:)

She is well looked after. My fave cat was a tuxedo.

Andy doesn’t like fancy food. Once we had company and I made a great pasta dish that we polished off. Afterwards Andy said he liked it, so I asked if I should make it again for the two of us. He thought for a moment, then asked if I could just leave the flavor out of it. No problem, back to easy-to-cook things for him every night. It gives me a lot of free time. 😊❤️

It is a relief, Linda. I'm not made for hot humid weather. We have a bunch of cats, somehow they maneuvered their way in.

It does look pretty, doesn't it, Rita. I turned it into pesto, a small amount, that I added to one I had in the refrigerator. This kitty girl sees me as an interloper in her home!

Right?! I am a homebody but I didn't think that would mean this much of a homebody, Miss Merry. Food, cats and weeding. My life.

My grandmother made the doily, Denise. I just pot the tomatoes on a sheet pan with olive oil and salt and leave them in the oven only the are roasted. Then I freeze them.

I don't think I'd go quite that far, Pixie. Trials and tribulations.

She adores Mark, AC. She gets along well with only one working front leg.

Leave the flavor out of it! I think he probably wouldn't like the garlic, Cheerful.
