Simple Sunday

Hello all. It's been quite chilly here in the northland. I've almost, almost turned on the heat. Then I snapped back to myself. Frieda is thoroughly enjoying my use of a throw. She won't sit or lay on me without one. Don't try to figure her out. You can't.

Friday Evening

Saturday Evening

We've had three days of on and off showers. It is appreciated, although the rain has stopped the outdoor momentum. In between showers my hay guy was able to get half of my winter hay supply delivered. I am always relieved when I know I have enough hay for the beasts. They also got moved to different pastures so they are up to their bellies in grass. Pasture season does give a financial break.

I try to keep forward momentum going, not think too much about what lies ahead. What lies in my immediate future is some sorting and winnowing. It's too wet to work outside and I have put blinders on regarding the abundance of unused things I have taking up space. I have a difficult time letting go. Sticking things in large plastic bags which I stuff in any space I can find is ridiculous. I don't want my son to go through what I did when my mother died. I must keep reminding myself of this.

Anyway. This hot mess was a very good dinner. Neighbor Bill brought me some red bell peppers which I used with grilled steak. Very good, even if I do say so myself. We should always remember to tell ourselves 'good job' once in a while.

I have a little heater on under my desk this morning. It's not *cold* but it's chilly. Too chilly to sit here bare-legged in my giant tie dyed t shirt for sure. Your cat looks so comfy, I wouldn't dream of asking her to move.

It's 63 degrees in the house. I refuse to turn on the heat at the beginning of September, heating season is long enough, Ami! An oversized T wouldn't work at the moment.😄

Yes, I'm sure I also have an abundance of unused things that I fondly imagine are being used on a daily basis.

Yes, we need to congratulate ourselves. "Yay, Jean!" is my favorite phrase, and I use it for any little thing. It motivates me, so I would be dumb not to do it. :)

I agreed we should tell ourselves when we did a good job or even when it wasn't so good but it was our best at the time.

Sounds like the temp that got to me and brought a heater into my life--lol!
So...you've got one that won't come sit with you without a blanket and mine won't come sit with me with one. If a blanket is flat and thin enough that it reminds her of my flannel loungers only then would she deign to visit with me for a very short period of time. One and only exception to her fluffy cuddly blanket aversion...the new electric heated throw--ROFL! We know her weakness is being a heat-seeking-fur-missile. ;)
Anyways, Good job!! May you hear it often. :)

We haven't had any rain in weeks. I imagine my water bill will be high.
It's still hot here but the nights are cool now which is so much better. You need a sweater in the morning. Much nicer.
As for your cat afghan, did the cat come with the afghan?

We will go down to the high 40s tonight and I love it, especially with the bedroom window open. I don't know what it's going to take for me to get motivated enough to start getting rid of stuff. We have enough for another full sized dumpster. UUUmmmmmm. Dinner looks fantastic. Smart kitty!!!

It hazy from the fires around us.

Fall weather has been teasing us with a few days, now and then, in the low 70's in the morning. I love leaving the door open and letting the girls go back and forth at free will. Dinner looks yummy!

I have always said that I will not leave the "stuff" my parents left for me. And I know it is time for me to get moving on this. I have ideas . . . But I need someone to kick me to start.

What a cold September! I am under the heated throw right now, but I don’t have the heat on it yet.

We are not having a cooldown in Nashua, NH, yet as this past Sat, the daytime temp was 85 but then we had rainstorms come in late in the day and all day Sunday. This week will be in the low to mid 70s, but I do like throw blanket weather, so cats have the right idea too. Sorting and getting rid of things is ongoing here, but a couple of bags went to a local thrift store over the weekend, slow and steady.

decades of acquisition piles up, nick.

I need to do this more often, Jean.

Sage advice, Boud.

Cats! The draw of heat is more than Allie can resist. The heated throw makes moving kind of ok with her! My shoulders are a wreck so I can't give myself a pat on the back easily, but I can try, Rita.

She certainly came with her own set of rules, Pixie! Hopefully the autumn weather will bring you some rain. We are warming up again. We will be in the 80s F by the end of this week. Rollercoaster season.

You have a large house and several out buildings, Lori. We do tend to fill space. The heat is returning this week. Bah! I really liked the steak and peppers. Frieda would say she is genius!

We aren't getting the smoke right now, Dora.

Florida isn't famous for temperate weather, Dreaming! Nothing like watching short-legged doggies scampering about.

This sounds too familiar, Miss Merry.

It's against my principles to turn on the heat this early, AC. Maybe I need a heated throw. Said as I talking about having too much stuff.

I have boxes and bags of donations hanging out but somehow not taken out, Dorothy. The extended forecast has temperatures going into the 80s for the next couple of weeks.

Adorable photos of Frieda and that throw looks so cozy and comfortable. It has been decidedly chilly in the evenings and early mornings but it got up to 76. I'm glad we have said goodbye to the high 80s and 90s. We've also had rain which the gardens have drunk up. Badly needed as the neighborhood was starting to look very brown. We are in the same boat as far as cleaning out things, and don't want our son to have to deal with it either. Hoping to pick up momentum any day now as we slacked off a bit lately. Your dinner looks delicious! My sister-in-law recently gave us two bags loaded up with cherry tomatoes and they are so tasty. Nothing like getting them picked fresh, as in your neighbor's generosity shows with his sweet bell peppers. Have a great week!

Your cat 🐈 is beautiful. Thankfully the temperatures have cooled here in Montreal and after the intense heat 🥵 🔥 and humidity along with the wildfires it is a welcome relief 😮‍💨
