Rainy Tuesday

It's raining this morning and supposedly through the day. We need it and I have no plans. I have baking plans and I couldn't ask for more appropriate weather for that. I think I'll make a rhubarb cake. When you are born and raised in a cold climate the biological instinct to start loading up calories as winter approaches still exists. This is why it's so common for weight gain during winter. I tell myself a little treat now and again doesn't hurt anyone. Justification? Maybe.

Neighbor Bill brought me some of the last of his peppers. I stopped growing peppers years ago when I started being supplied by Bill. They made a good, easy and colorful stir fry for our dinner.

I love rhubarb!

We grow a LOT of rhubarb. This week something has been eating it and it was not us. Love rhubarb muffins!

That looks really good ..

Cut stuff up...toss it in a pan, and stir it while it fries. My kind of meal.

Your stir-fry is magazine-worthy! I love growing peppers, but I'm not much of a fan of eating them!

Bill's peppers add a lovely and delicious addition to your meal, which looks great! I've heard in the old days that people fed like the bears do before the winter set in. I am doing the same thing in the justifying department. I have to thank you again for showing all the wonderful bread you have been sharing here. I made an artisan no-need loaf thanks to you, and it was very well received happy to say.

We use peppers a lot. The senior give away peppers

I love peppers. I love the roast them and did a batch this past weekend. Delightful. Bread? We have the last of it to eat today and I'll make more to store in balls in the fridge. LOOOOVE having it ready to make into flatbread, foldovers, handpies and anything. Hope you have a blast baking today.

I don't often think of it either, Boud. It's good!

Me, too, Miss Merry.

Lori, you grow a to of everything! Something is packing on for winter.

The peppers were so fresh, Lori.

I didn't get to bake. I spent the afternoon putting together an under cabinet unit. It took me a few hours, Far Side!

Thank you, Tommy.

Mine, too, Val. Easy and yummy!

That's kind of you, Dreaming. I eat them and don't grow them!

It rained all day and most of last night, Cheerful. We are entering the time when every day is good cooking weather.

Isn't that the truth, AC!

Sandra said...

Thank you, Linda.

Sandra said...

It sure is, Rita.

Sandra said...

I didn't get the chance to make it, Sue. But I will.

I'm pleased by this, Denise. Bread making doesn't need to be complicated. I make your soda bread often and it doesn't get any easier or good than that.

You have the best senior center, Dora.

I got into assembling an under counter storage and never got to it, Ivy. I have one more to put together today but that will go faster now that I figured it out. Instructions were worthless!

I just saw the magical cart! Under the counter. That's brilliant. Sorry the instructions were worthless. Boooo on them for that. But woohoo for you for gettin' it done. Looked great!!!!
