It's soup season.
So the time for bringing in the plants, putting away the outdoor furniture, getting the windows washed is upon us. I haven't had a fire yet because I have no wood. Oh, there are plenty of downed trees, just not cut up downed trees. The guy just keeps saying soon. I need to find a repair person for the wood pellet stove. A new auger motor was installed last year, it worked for a while but the auger stopped turning again. Hopefully I can find someone, it puts out a lot of heat.
That's the news from the old homestead.

After all the hassle the stove auger isn't working again? I wonder if it's a design flaw.
I don't bring in outdoor chairs, no place for them. I turn them over!
Soup I can sign on for though.
Yes, not working again. We have outbuildings so they get put away. When we didn't we as as you do.
For the first time this morning I thought about turning on the heat. Not quite yet but we're getting there. Good luck with your stove and wood!
We have a little bit of garden work to do and will try to get at some of it tomorrow.
I don't make soup...but I ought to. When my friends show pictures of their soups....I am always jealous! Such a great 'warming' meal!
I just made a crockpot full of beef soup yesterday. Shared with Dagan and the boys. Definitely that time of year. I like soup all year round, but it is especially delicious when there's a chill in the air.
I had the heater guy out and it all works. Thankfully, I don't have to do a wood stove for extra heat. One benefit of having a small house. My neighbor though picked up several truckloads of his stacked wood that was done here near our fence. He looks set!
I've had the heat on a couple of times, Cheerful. We've had a couple of mornings in the mid 30s.
It's that time of year, AC.
I save chicken bones and vegetable bits to make stock, Dreaming. I have so much in the freezer right now I have to pause my compulsive saving!
I bet they enjoyed that, Rita. It sounds like you are feeling much better.
I'd be set if the wood could get cut, Val!!
Yes it is soup season!
And I get three lunches from one pot of soup, Far Side!
I love making a big batch of soup that lasts a few days. Just finished our last bowl of veggie cheese and corn chowder, which is usually the first one we make as soon it gets cold. It is a favorite soup and then we go on from there. Yours looks very tasty indeed. With all the lovely breads you have put on here in other posts, you inspired me. I thought I would pick an easier recipe as I haven't made bread in I can't remember when the last time was, and made a garlic and rosemary focaccia and it turned out very nicely. I'm going to be a little more adventurous next time. Happy weekend to you Sandra!
