YOU SAY WHAT?
No more days and nights of greyhound glory on the most comfortable place in the house?
Never mind. Disaster averted.
Sometimes I think Gracie is treated like the redheaded stepchild. Howard is outgoing, always present and he loves the camera. Gracie is reserved and off doing her own thing, which often includes barking, so Howard ends up being center stage. My animals sometimes allow me to understand human behavior better, to realize why we often end up the people we become. As a child, I was Grace. Being Grace as a child felt isolating and unacknowledged. Being Grace as an adult gives me the freedom to be reserved and off doing my own thing, which often includes barking, figuratively speaking!

Yes, I'm a Gracie. There are compensations. As you say.
I am so thrilled you are blogging again.
I know you are a Gracie! Like does recognize like!
deb, thank you. But I wish I could live up to your sentiment. But, I'll except your kind comment on its face value.
Got a giggle out of you barking. I too am thrilled that you are once again barking for all of us!
Sometimes my bark is worse than my bite, but not always!
Awww, I'm glad she found another cozy place :)
My dog is an almost 12-yr-old basenji, so she is barkless, and a whole lot smaller than your Gracie, but just as independent, I suspect, and just as in love with pillows and the coziest spot in the house. And at this age, I pretty much let her get away with it. I just can't resist that expression of pure delight on her sleeping face...
I suspect you never could resist the pure delight on her sleeping face. They are our family.
So this is what I have to look forward to? What's with the bubble wrap... is it greyhound proofing... did it work? ~Jeni
It was a last ditch effort to keep her off the two pieces of furniture I wish she would leave alone. It did not work. I told you, they will not stay off. She has the bed, the dog sofa, the recliners, the chair in my office, but she MUST sleep on those love seats! End of story, no discussion, did not care a wit about bubble wrap. If she could give me the raspberries, she would. You are warned, they will do as they want. : )
That would be whit. Why do I proof after I post?
