July 4th

Rain!

Only about an hour, but......rain. The cats were watching through the screen door as if they'd never seen it before. We have a high probability for more rain this evening, but we all know how that can go.

My setup yesterday. It was 90F with a dew point of 72 degrees. Tropical. By late afternoon I'd had enough of my stoic ways and turned on the air conditioner. I still sat with the two fans blasting away in front of me.

We have a quiet day, like most days. Quiet is good.
Happy 4th of July my American friends.

It was July 4th, 1980 when Eric and I decided we were going to get married. So ha, opposite of independence day! "
It's hot here, too. I sit in front of a fan or run the AC in my car full blast.

SO glad I ended up taking this week off.

We watched the rain go all over but this morning...the 5th, we are seeing some rain!
Whooooooo Hooo!

I got to see the town fireworks for the first time ever last night. My grandson came to visit and played chauffer!

So glad you got some rain. It was almost 90 here too, and we were in the tropical zone for humidity. Fortunately, there were not a lot of loud sounds nearby last night. I have been known to run a window air conditioner and fans too. This afternoon we have band practice in the Studio and it's supposed to be 90 and tropical again. I hope the air conditioner can handle it.

Our holiday was similar to your own, Sandra, as I had posted. We stayed home all day, the rains and flood warnings were broadcast on the weather radio all day, but thankfully not in our immediate area. The only "casualty" is that the fountain below our window in the Nashua River has been overtaken by the rising water levels and is now just a gurgle. We also turn on the fans along with the AC.

That''s funny, Ami. You got married a year before we did. I think having the week off was a really good thing.

Val, we had on and off rain in the morning yesterday. Today is sunshine and mild temperatures. I heard the rumble of fireworks from one of the towns. I hope you enjoyed it.

Lori, we have neighbors who always set off a fireworks display. Thankfully, for what ever reason they didn't this year. We have a mild day and I plan to do some mowing. Good luck with the air conditioner!

Beatrice, the weather is extreme this year. I hope you had a good day, we did. It was peaceful, not fireworks.

It’s much cooler, we were in the 50s overnight, Far Side. It feels great!

We have had so much rain for the past week, I've been wondering if we should have been building an ark. It seems like we go from one extreme to the other...we had a hot, dry June and now a cold, wet July, which is more typical for Danish summer. I'm ready for some sunshine again, the rain has brought the slugs out in the garden and I spent ages picking them off my plants. But it makes the ducks very, very happy when I come with a whole cup of slug treats for them.

A belated Happy 4th, though it seems like not much freedom in on offer these days...

julochka, at least it makes the ducks happy! We are unnaturally dry. Some states are flooding and experiencing strong storms. This state, which is normally green is brown. I don't think the is a normal anymore.

I am concerned for us. There are states rolling back child labor laws. unbelievable. I don't like the looks of where we are heading.
